AMD, none that officially allow it

Single slot - only if you need the pci slots

Back plate - mainly for looks, but they can hold the card straight. Not necessary, completely up to you

That's a tough question, and it has many different answers. Everyone will see it a different way.

Another 670 will mean your case is noisier and hotter, but will also mean that your computer will be more powerful later on and will be more futureproof. I personally believer single card options are better when you have the choice and don't need more power. ie, in 3 years you'll find you can't play the new games at full settings anymore, at this point I would persoanlly just get another single card solution.

Watercooling means silence, and better overclocks (most of the time)

In your case, I would go down two different routes:
1) WF 670, SSD, very good air cooling... maybe watercool later/add another 670
2) WC now with EVGA 670 and add another 670/SSD later on
