Fishing - Anybody doing any ?

Man I suck at shore angling.. 3 rods and second blank session.

Thank you cainer for driving again :)

I had a look at the camera footage - it's greener than a green thing. Not surprising that fit can't find jack at the moment.. there must be about 2-3foot max visibility.

need to try the cam again when the suns out ;)

catches for today in order that they were caught...

i caught another Plaice but it was foul hooked, so no measure/pic, unhooked and chucked straight back,
all caught on fresh black Lug worm on a simple 2 hook flapper with size 2 aberdeens using 2 rods.
evening session into darkness next time, getting up at 4am sucks lol

Hmm would have to see to be honest.

Another mate is out on a boat today.. I can't because of visitors atm.. I would have loved to have gone too!

Just looking at options for switching the untide rod to a fixed spool reel. Not much in the UK needs a big bulky multiplier so looking at possibly getting a Daiwa BG60 or 90.. or I may be tempted with a casting multi.. but in the end they're about the same (read expensive) cost. So it will have to wait .. lots of time for research at the moment.

I may even attempt to retrofit my own magnet (naturally balanced with a counter balance) to the penn.. I have some small mags that could do the job.

^^ i prefer fixed spool to multiplyer, gives you more control while fighting fish, casts further if using ~4.5oz or less, only trouble is the line twist with the F/S reel.

eBay delivery turned up today, had to order something as there was a 20% off code to use :)

i had ordered 4x 2 hook clip down rigs but i got a msg from the seller that he only had 2 left (he advertised that he had more than that)
so rather than a part refund i got 2x 3 hook clip downs instead

i was considering just buying the bits and bobs needed to make these rigs up for myself but as i dont get down to the coast as much as id like most of it would stay unused for years,
ive got loads of hooks in all different sizes and with these ready made rigs i can always replace hook/hook link when they become damaged/worn,
theres no need to throw the whole rig away so they should last quite a while (as long as i stay away from the marina west wall :D)

decided im definitely going monday, be a shame not to as at some point soon it'l get cold and that'l be it till the spring, with sat/sun being calm conditions the sea should be relatively clear so sight feeders like Plaice & Mackerel should be there in good numbers (fingers crossed ;p)
NickK you have mail...

no word back from NickK so looks like im on my own tomorrow, the fog has descended again so the drive down will be erm, interesting :D

got my mind set on Brighton marina tbh as ive done ok down there the last 2 trips,
also Pev is a bit far, its getting on for a 2hr drive each way :/

the marina has been fairly quiet the last 2 times weve been down, both times though its been on a monday... i wouldnt fish the place at the weekend, gets too busy for me
