Fishing - Anybody doing any ?

It is only a matter of time..

Seemed it was hellishly slow going again for people.

I think the construction work in the marina is actually scaring away larger fish from the area... seems you need to fish the beach for anything now..

Was too flat and calm for anything decent today. Unfortunately the best fishing from shore is in choppy conditions or just after.

And no to the marina. Never.

I may be tempted to try beaches once I have a larger fixed spool for the untide.. I'm not a multiplier casting expert.. not a FS expert either but.. all pending the job situation.. Also a nice warm floatation suit to block the winds at the beach in winter..

west beach, straight out the front of the Bunn Leisure caravan park,
i hire a caravan down there mon-fri 2-3 times a year via the sun newspaper holidays dirt cheap and fish all week,
but i also drive down for a few sessions in between if reports say the smoothy's are comming out
next year im aiming to book a van for around the end of May/early June, then again end of June/early July, both of those will be for Smooth hound fishing,
then again begining of Oct for Plaice & Bass

NickK.. part one of our plan is underway..
i have macca's wife & kids on a boat 100yrds off the Marina east wall surrounded by sharks with frickin lazers,
go and collect macca tomorrow and make him fish there for 3 hours and he can have his family back..
if he wont comply, i will take the boat to northern africa and swap them for camels

Really tempted to go rock skipping.. just take the little spinning rod and a set of lures/drop shots.. pity we don't have much natural rockscape with off the south coast.

Would love to see if there's any bathometry maps available close in along the shore line.. gives you chance to analyse the locations before hand.

Perhaps I should make myself a little R/C motor boat with a pulled sonar array for the job..

warning on the Tacklebox's website that the walls will be closed for at least the next 5 days due to weather (wind speeds)
but looking at the forcast i doubt they will be open for at least 7 days :o :(

Just had enough time between down pours to clean the fish pond filter and take a few buckets of water out before the next down pour!

EU propose new 1/2 year 2016 band and then 1 bag limit for rest of 2016 for Bass.

Looks like they're attempting todo the same as Cod with Bass.

Considering Bass is rare.. I'm not surprised and support it completely!

Yup.. would be interesting to jigging but I think most squid are night time efforts atm..

Over the cold... still waiting on the response from the job (that's the 19+weeks, 3 phone interviews and 3 f2f interviews.. and the last one being two weeks ago.. twice a week email and phone badgering on my side).

So.. if I get the job I'll buy myself a Shimano Spheros and possibly a 11'6 bass rod next year.. should get some distance from the wall..

Need a day/night of mindlessness to recharge the batteries with all this job application and waiting..

Think it's the same one on the squid fishing UK Facebook page.. should see what Marlon thinks of it (being a squid specialist!)

wind forcast suggests the marina walls will stay closed for the next week :/
wouldnt mind getting another session in before Xmas but it'd need a few calm days before the Plaice return i feel
