Fishing - Anybody doing any ?

didnt go in the end, i didnt get up till 10am and so i wouldnt have been down there with baits in the water untill midday with high tide at 2pm, it seemed like a lot of effort just for 2-3 hours fishing,
i think if we were getting the 14/15c that they forcasted last week id have made more of an effort but 9/10c is a bit nippy for sitting around without decent windproof gear.
its not a wasted day off work though as i have some accounting work to do.. the pleasure of being self employed

Did I say 40b rod.. just broke out the gear for a check.. 50lb Fladen Maxximus boat rod with a warbird reel. Now wonder the black bream I caught last time literally got catapulted from the ocean  :D

Just been fitting up some 2/0 hooks on 25b mono for the little 20lb Ugly stick.

I think my mission on sunday is to attempt to use all my lures.. at least once :D

Sunday looks reasonable.. so roll on!

a 50lb class set up is just not warrented off the south coast... unless you go right down to the SW of the UK shark fishing, thats somthing id love to do :D
btw a smooth hound of ~4lb was caught off the beach at abbotsbury yesterday.. so they are about! seems so early in the year for them though?

im guessing.. 2-3 flatties, 2 rockling and a whiting
how was my guess? :D

2 whiting
0 fatties
1 rockling
1 cod / codling :D

thats a fair size Rockling Nick, but it sounds like you'd have been better off going beach fishing with macca :/
did your mates catch anything note worthy?

Wrecking trip arranged for June.. hopefully the 50b rod will have some fun :) I'll pop the little rod down mid way for some mackerel too.

Actually we caught smooth hound or two on sunday but they sort of get forgotten about.. good fight on the smaller rods.

:( Boats :(

Bleurgh

Only have boat rods :p

We return the smooth hounds, whiting, pollack that's small, etc. Quite happy for a single fish in the session - to be honest I don't see the need for 99 fish on a fishing trip unless your selling them on to fish shop..

boat fishings great fun :D
only trouble is its quite expensive, its about £550 to charter a boat to go wrecking from Brighton, and although you can get 8-10 people onboard i like a bit of space so normally 5 of us go, not much change from £150 each when alls said and done :/
