Fishing - Anybody doing any ?

Well done. Not bad for at all couple of hours.

There is a massive Squid shortage at the moment, and what's left the prices have gone up. Apparently El Nino has send them all out to deep water cool water off the Pacific coast of America so none are being caught. They expect them back later in the autumn.

Bah... this week has being a whirlwind.. interesting but crazy!

You booked a few days off to come fishing yet? :p

I've got a couple of worms left so I might fish for an hour or two before I leave here this morning,
got to be out of the caravan by 10am and high tide is at 11:30am

Going to be while yet given the backlog of work.

Mate is going fishing tomorrow.. but considering the amount he drank earlier today that 5am start is likely to be a no go...

Went fly fishing (lake) for the first time last Saturday, didn't catch anything (few nibbles though) but I did enjoy it! Bought a cheap/beginners road and going again with my mate next week.

After reading up and planning to go out this summer for Salmon and Pike i can share about 2 days worth of reading. There seems to be new trends in fly fishing now like Skandi and Skagit that might help for lakes if the lake is windy and not that clear you want bright lures and heavy lures maybe to cast out further. There is no point going out and floating fly if the water is cold and the fish are not surface feeding. Thats for warm summer nights when voracious fish feed!

I reckon these Skandi setups look pretty neat im looking at the 11ft Greys Switch rod with Rio Skandi VersiTip line for my first because these lines have shooting heads that cast further and seem to interchange and come in four with floating and sinking being options so really easy to change. Not cheap though £99 for the line! Gulp!

soon.. :)

its going to be a scorcher with very little wind down there this week, early reports of next weeks weather looks like wind/rain, typical :(
the tide times wernt great for this week though, HT ~2-4am ~2-4pm, but next week evening HT's are around dusk-midnight so should fish better

:D still .. fishing.. and not sat in an office :)

Bit windy down here today. Forcast for tomorrow and Wednesday looks just as bad :/ not sure if I'll get a line in the water before Thursday

Manged to fish this morning for the first time this week. I wasn't expecting much after the wind we've had this week and I was right :/
Just one small bass about 6" long.

I'm heading back out on the boat on Saturday. Weather looks like its going to be spot on. Decent tides for some light rod Bream action!

I've charted the whole boat and have 7 people I know coming with me so it'll be a really good day.

grrr, only had a couple of worms left thismorning, on my last cast with my last bait i had a cracking bite, bent the rod double and took loads of line, felt like a heavy fish but then the hook pulled, so that was me done, back at home now,
i did have a 8lb'er last night though just before dark, that measure is 19" long over all just to give an indication of size
