Flatout 2 is out, has anyone tried it?

nope it's bloom (poor mans lighting effect) so it should run nicely on your 6600gt.

infact i think they've overused it slightly on some levels. there is an option to turn it off though but i haven't tried it yet. as mentioned earlier i have everything on max except aa and my card is only slightly better than a 6600gt.

wonderful.

In some ways, i prefer bloom, looks almost the same but runs a lot better.

Only Far Cry's HDR has impressed me

Are there any good reviews of this game yet? Ive only found 2, they gave 7.4/10 and 7.9/10.

What would you give this game out of 10? Considering its only £18..

I also enjoyed the old Destruction derby games, and Burnout 3, is this game for me?

i'm pretty sure there's some destruction derby mini games builtin. i'll take a looky. as for burnout3 sorry haven't played on a console for years. no one i know has one and i just game on the pc.

but as for the game - i give it 10/10. i'm biased because i love the first one (5quid in the shops now) and this adds a lot more to it with regards to the challenge and the graphics. on the old game, all you had to was get to the front and you pretty much guaranteed the win, even if you span off the track once or twice. no chance of that in this game as the computer players also have nitrous boosts and even when you're going full pelt yourself, you can be overtook or struggle to keep up with the car in front. some tracks reward reckless driving (you get nitrous power ups by crashing into things) whereas some do require you to stick to a racing line of sorts to get round in first place. as you can tell it's an arcadey racer and not too serious. it's just good clean fun.

Its got some Burnout Influ by the looks of it even the 8.5mb clip has the same song playing as burnout.

Such boasting will only lead to a holiday.

looks like you're not getting it then. it does have starforce, i mentioned it earlier in the thread....

i should mentioned that it only takes a few moments to check the dvd. also it doesn't mind that i've got daemon tools installed - no conflicts there.

no way i'm buying a starforce game.

the US distributor is different so that may not have starforce on it - we can only hope (comes out in a month or two though).

Saw a trailer for this on the tv and it looks very good. Loved the first one.

One thing that annoys me though is it isn't on the 360. Would have liked a game like this (not like full auto).

Can't get to grips withthe keyboard for steering. Looks like I will have to learn lol.
