been playing since champ man 93 god I feel old ;)

only got the last few on steam though

So is this a Steam only deal? 20% off means it'll be £28 but you can usually find a deal close to release for £20-25.
 
The last one I proper sunk hours into was probably 2011 which was easily 1000+ hours. Maybe half of that on 2012 and since then barely 100 on each.

It's pretty much like FIFA though, nothing really seems to be hugely different you're just paying for the update.
 
Will be getting on release, hopefully I will actually play it this year after liking '16 but never really getting the chance to play.
 
Hard to judge from that but I hope there are big improvements to the AI. It's never the look of the game that puts me off, but the terrible AI decisions in lots of match situations. I skipped FM15 and got last years hoping for better, but there wasn't much improvement. Fingers crossed this years version is!
 
I have put a lot of time into 16 and I can't say I've been that disappointed with the AI. There are of course limitations within the match engine and in r/l mistakes are made on the pitch, so I put things down to a bad ref decision :D

A skin with "Instant Result" is a help to combat the, let's be frank, awful 3D A.I.
 
Not played FM in a while. Seemed to spend longer on editor and messing around with logo packs and stuff last time I bought it (maybe couple years ago).

Is there still a licencing issue with Japanese league where none of teams or players have their real names. Not that I will ever look to manage in that league, but I like the game to have a full compliment of players and as complete a database as possible. Or any other countries with similar issues? I remember a few years ago the US had same issue.

I quite fancy getting back involved this year though tbh. The only thing is, it is a massive time sink. I remember is days gone by sitting at 2am thinking I will play just 1 more game... then I get beat and am like, "can't finish on a defeat"..... and on and on it goes.

Play this till about 10pm and end on a win. Then watch youtube videos or play another game. Works for me, saying that fm2016 never had a great grip on me.

There are issues with German leagues/players/national team and also the French National team if I remember correctly but they are always fixed by a mod on release day.

I'll be getting this for sure, I know they don't change much year on year but the amount of hours I get out of it for the money is insane, plus this year there is a little discount if you owned previous versions back to FM13
