Folding@Home News - Attention Single-Machine Crunchers

ok dangerousdave added - nice piece of kit you have there

markyp23 - no sign of you in the stats yet unless you're under a different name, I'll check again before next week's news :)

If you've set "Use IE settings" to "Yes" in the config then that could be it, try changing it to "No" and it should work.

Otherwise just restarting the client can sometimes get it back out of a hole.

OK, I deleted everything after and including [http] in the client.cfg and it said it worked.

Although now it says I have two processors - I wish. ;)

Thanks for your help
It's not usually a good plan to edit the config file manually though you may get away with it - if the config file gets corrupted it can mean that your points end up going to the anonymous username under team 0 :o

The proper way is to run the client with the -configonly switch (either from the run prompt or from a shortcut) which will take you through the config options again. It's all in the sticky guide if you need any guidelines.

Can you add me to the single crunchers list? I recycled one of my competition accounts so my name is CSO2_B0rked. Its only an athlon 3000 xp on a few hours a day but I cant be bothered to re setup BBC CP on it after a reinstall.

So count a new member to the folding club! :D

Welcome jaric - should see you flying up the charts with that Oc'ed e6300 :D

read all the smp threads as you might want to duel boot that rig and run linux overnight to up production a fair bit :)

Hi Rich,

Just a heads up that I am showing 6 active cores at the moment (I think due to a Windows re-install, not sure).

Feel free to take me out of the Single machines for this week.

It should be back to normal next week.
