Hey, I shall be taking up the fold again with my new Core 2 Quad Q6600. Im going to try and sus out this VMware and SMP thingy but hopefully it shouldnt be too hard :S

Going to be very intersting to see what weekly output you can get from your quad core. Think you will be the only one with a quad core C2D in the single folding league.

I got 4GB of RAM im experincing a slight problem tho, I use vista 64bit and VMware wont work on it!

edit: VMware now working, fingers crossed it continues to work

No its not OC'ed.... yet. I have just encountered a problem, where I choose the number of processors for the VM i can only use 2 anyone know a way around this?

That is a limitation of VMWare I think. If you run a second instance of VMWare it should use the other 2 cores (similar to dual core machines running 2 copies of the normal windows client). See here.

Hi there - welcome to the forums and maybe the team too (can't see anyone with your name in the team stats yet), you using the same name as here?
If you've just not finished your first WU yet then that would explain it.

Also what sort of machine are you crunching on? Single/Dual/Multi-core?

Yeah same name, havent finished first WU yet for folding@home (i think) its a box at work. Single core. Part of the seti@home team too... have 3 machines running that.
