Football 12-14th Feb 2011 WHICH IS VALENTINE'S DAY ****SPOILERS****

Just got home,
We were the best team today but utd showed there winning mentality and finished it with some fine finishing

You were not the best team. That is just some extremely bitter consolation rubbish spun up by the Man City chimps.

You had some good spells, but they amounted to nothing and you were outplayed.

Run along now son.

Right ok then,
It wasn't spun up at all. We created the most chances, nearly took the lead in the first 5mins and created a few more after that.
Outplayed hahaha
Except the lead of course.
Of course.

Played excellent first half and didn't give utd anything.
Played well 2nd half and it was just really unlucky that Kompany slipped because from my pov he was going to win the ball before Rooney got there.

Got over that we have lost now and now really spurred on for the future because today we played well against utd and caused a few problems but just didn't take the chances.
Today showed how far we have come and today's performance showed that we are getting closer to utd. Next season with a full pre season for everyone we will really kick on i think.

Thats a very "Blue" look at things!
UTD deserved the win today, I don't think many will argue.
First half City spent long periods without the ball with UTD finding it very difficult to create with it.

City's goal was a crazy deflection, lucky to say the least. After the goal went in UTD looked the only team that were going to win it.

However, I think it's fair to say City played very well at Trafford and certainly are looking a top 4 side.

If Silva had tucked away that early chance then who knows...

A bit nervy at the end but great to pick up 3 points from the Stadium of Light at last !

Good to see Sandro start to look like a Prem footy player, thought he had his best game for Spurs. Kranjcar with another quality goal, glad to see him being given a chance.

Is there a more useless, ineffective player in any league anywhere in the world than Defoe right now? I don't think so.

Defoe just needs to regain some confidence, watch him score against Milan against their slow defence.

Great 3 points for Spurs, champions league football next year is still definitely on.

I think more than anything in VDV, Bale, Pienaar, Niko and shot happy players like Jenas you've just got a midfield that doesn't really give the strikers much of the ball.

How many touches did Defoe have vs Gyan for instance, theres only so much you can do if no one gives you the ball.

One of the commentators was a joke, Gallas had bad boots I assume, is it better to stay on with bad boots and slip or fall or injure your foot, or to get it sorted. One commentator literally said nothing about Dawson being rubbish, the lack of the team covering properly the lack of getting remotely close to the cross or Gomes maybe doing better, it was just 5 minutes about Gallas and how the team will hate him, and how sitting down AFTER the game at Birmingham makes him a troubled player?

Then after Dawsons header, which he said was a bit rubbish and should have been easily dealt with by the keeper he didn't mention even once that Gallas ran right infront of the keeper and put him off by both blocking his view of the ball and attempting to flick it. That goal would almost certainly have been saved if he didn't get in the way, and Dawson/Corluka and possibly Gomes could all have still prevented the goal they conceded. What if Gallas was injured, or just out of position upfield, would the goal still have been his fault, no, someones out of place you cover and you defend, they didn't.

Defoe is only playing because he is one of Harry's favourites. He offers nothing to Spurs if he is not scoring, which he not, so he should be dropped. He has had a fair run in the side since his return from injury and has done nothing. It is not because the midfield are not passing to him that he has no effect on the game whether he scores or not, its because he is useless.

It should be VDV and begrudgingly (because we didn't bring in a striker capable playing up top on his own) Crouch

As a Spurs fan shouldn't be moaning really. We've just won 3 difficult games on the bounce, games we don't usually score many points in. Blackburn (a) Bolton (h) and Sunderland (a)

We've also won all these games without our only good player (according to some whopper in here :p)

Today wasn't far off our second string team. Players like Pienaar only his 3rd game for us, Krancjar 3 rd game of the season and similar for Sandro. Pav has hardly featured and Defoe hasn't even touched the ball for over 1000 minutes of football.

We haven't been playing well but still sit 4th, just 2 points behind 3rd with a game in hand. Hopefully we can pick things up, get key players fit and really put a good run together.

I really hate Man City fans. Bunch of num-nuts.

Barca are losing EDIT - Not anymore, 1-1., mainly because they are putting 3 men on Messi all the time.

We will not do that on Wednesday, that's for damn certain. We need to outplay them and hit on the break.
