Football 12-14th Feb 2011 WHICH IS VALENTINE'S DAY ****SPOILERS****

Did he sleep with your mum or something

You are ridiculously critical of probably our best player over the last year.

Yes :D

Even today a few times he chose to shoot (wildly) when he should have passed instead

Rooney HAS to be our player of the season for the immense goal tally he amassed

Berbatov has to be for this season so far!!

Nani is a great player, he always has been a great player, you only have to own a pair of functioning eyes to see he is quality.

He just isnt Ronaldo, and thats his main problem.

The fact he doesnt play in Ronaldos position doesnt seem to deter people from comparing him to Ronaldo.
People seem to forget Ronaldo was not even hit and miss when he was played wide right and asked to play as a conventional winger he was just a show pony who couldnt cross who's constant ****** around meant the forwards could never time their runs properly off him. Its only when he was moved further up and played as an inside forward that he really started playing well.

Some cracking games today, going to go down to the wire if we go down I think, not that anybody is interested.

Run along now son.

Oh please. Great watching it on tv aint it.

City played well, a goal is a goal at the end of the day, great having a £25 million player on £180k that just scores 5 goals all season and just bangs in a bicycle kick, mint. If only other teams could have that depth.

Did Biz.Kid09 go to the match?

We have got that depth because we can have a 25 million pound striker not doing the business because his fellow strikers are ;)

I thought you were giving up trolling Man Utd?

I'm not even in the country at the moment, should I have flown back just for the game instead of watching it on TV?

I know you are simple, but please try harder next time :)

God, Wayne Bridge is terrible.

Yes, Cheets i did attend the match if you wanted to know :p. I have to agree with what Robbo is kind of saying, it doesn't make you any less of a supporter just because you do not attend one match. (I assume Robbo attends others)

But you see 99% more going to a live match than you will ever do on tv screen, really is amazing going watching a game then coming home and seeing it on tv, nothing like it, no replays, real view of things, tis great.

Cool, nice to a see a manc that goes to matches but I hate City due to the 1999 Playoff....**** ;)

Remember this

Dont get me started on the 2 leg, handball and a blatant pen, reason I hate mancs blue or red.

No, he really hasn't always been a great player, he's had potential but till this season he's been INCREDIBLY inconsistant.

Chris brunt on his best game will get a goal and 2-3 assists, the reason he's not Ronaldo, is he can't do it every single game. THe difference between the best and the average players in the world, is consistancy, Nani has never come close to having that before this season.

Of course, being PLAYED consistantly often leads to more consistant performances, from a quick check he's basically started as many games this year, as he's ever started in a whole season before.

LIkewise its worth pointing out, the difference between an inside right striker, and a right midfielder, is where Andy Gray sticks his finger on his stupid display. He plays on the right wing, he always came back for corners, he plays the exact position Nani plays now, when the going is good for Utd, they tend to play 4-3-3 as they did with Utd, with Nani and Giggs today dropping deeper when under pressure.

Inside right, and right wing, the difference is largely semantics and Ronaldo was excellent for many seasons before his 42 goal season.

Its also worth noting for the people who go on and on about selfishness, the mere fact someone is willing to shoot from distance and from multiple positions troubles the defence. If people know you won't shoot from 30 yards, or you'll only go outside and cross the ball in, they'll defend based on that, and defending is easier.

If Nani will shoot given space or cross if he wants to, players have to get closer, double team him, you can't show him inside because he'll use it, and you can't show him the outside because he'll cross well. If he's cut in and shaping to shoot a CB or midfielder might rush out to block, which will leave space which someone else might run into.

Its teams that are one dimensional and always do the same thing that are predictable, you HAVE to have an unpredictable and "selfish" player like Nani, because he will create havoc for the defence, which makes space for other players.

Ronaldo shoots all the time, and lots of those shots get parried/rebound for others to shoot or take up great positions.

One of the only times I've seen Nani be too selfish was stealing that going to be epic goal of Ronaldo's an inch off the line for no reason.

That really bugs me also about people calling Nani selfish, I've actually lost count of how many of Nani's goals this season has been coming in from the left ignoring his team mates and hitting it with his left foot. When someone has got the ability to score goals as consistently as Nani he's quite entitled to do it 3/4 times in a game if the openings arise

Nani's ability to score goals has actually always been quite impressive even in the previous seasons where he hasn't played all that much
