Stoke had 40% possession and we still manage to get butt-****ed. Difference is they took their chances.
We're are getting closer and closer to the bottom 3.
Stoke always have pathetic posession at home, I think they hadn't had the majority of posession in ANY game at home since they got back in the Prem, which is a truly terrible stat, they managed to break it, against Arsenal of all teams and I think it was away from home. I'm tired, it might have been an away only stat but I think the reason it was so ridiculous was it was a home stat.
Defoe's grandad died last night.
Thats a shame for him, and he'll probably feel worse after the game
Baz, sorry but thats rubbish, Caragher had his behind leg on the floor, but it was WELL behind him, 98% of his weight was in his front foot going through Nani's leg.
If he was standing still the weight would have been on the other foot, but the rear leg, while running, the whole point is you push your weight OFF the leg as you push up, and he was so far through the motion all his momentum was in the front leg. You also only push PART of your weight up, most of your weight is moving forwards not down, thats kind of the point of running.
As for most likely to cause an injury, the single biggest factor is the leg position of the person being tackled. In Nani's case his leg was infront of him, in a way that pushing into the leg just pushes the foot into the ground and keeping grip. If its the rear leg, the foot gets pushed back, and injury is far less likely.
Caraghers was one of the worst tackles this year, his mometum was in the front leg, LOCKED out, hitting Nani at just about the worst point he could in terms of Nani's leg having no where to go. Evans, not great challenge at all, but Henderson was almost equally as reckless coming into it.
