**Football 19th-22nd March** 2010/2011

Still can't believe no ones picked up N'zogbia, one of the best wingers in the league, dribbling in the box, precise control, he can do a little bit of everything, not the best player in the world but, 10mil, reliable, consistant, at the very worst he'd be a great quality rotation player at a top 4 club, he could even end up, with better players around him, good enough for first team.

Considering the likes of Utd having 2 actual wingers and no back up, Chelsea have Malouda and Kalou, Arsenal with not really a single natural winger, City, he's better than Milner, SWP, few others, Liverpool, better than any of their wingers.

HE'd cost 10mil now but, how much did he leave Newcastle for, stupidly good for the kind of price he could have been had for, and most importantly, proven in this league.

I said last earlier in the week we'd lose against West Brom and probably slip to 3rd/4th, and at 2-0 down when I left work I wasn't even upset as it was fully expected. Amazed it was 2-2 when I got in, but even so, it's pathetic that the same players can get away with being **** week after week and nothing gets done about it. The fact United's defence might be a bit ropey now is little consolation, it's more points dropped when it really matters. Still think Wenger and the deadwood in the squad need to step away from the pitch at the end of the season, and seriously **** Almunia, I'd rather have Pat Rice in goal than him.

We should really be a few points clear at the top by now! It's games like today that we really need to win, otherwise the whole season comes down to a difficult game against united at the emirates. If we had just beaten West brom both times this season we could have been 1 point clear with a game in hand. It's looking more and more like United VS Arsenal will be the title decider.

i don't think arsenal have a chance in that game if they played anywhere close to the same as today. I still have my hopes pinned on a chelsea comeback in arsenal 1997/8 team streak of wins

I was about to say no chance but had a quick check at the table and if Chelsea win their 2 games in hand, they're only 6 points off Utd.

Still a big ask but with them still having to play Utd, it's possible.

To be fair to Almunia, he's had two fantastic performances, followed by Wenger showing him all the faith in the world by bringing in a 41 yr old keeper who had gone rather insane and IIRC Alumnia and Lehman were FAR from good friends.

So Wenger, after several injuries is forced to use you, while desparately trying not to all season, you play great, then he brings in the very very last person Almunia would want back AND just about the most ridiculous choice for backup keeper cover available in the world....... hardly confidence inspiring stuff.

We've yet to see Lehman play though, who do you think will be the most ridiculous old person Wenger's bought lately, Sol, Lehman, Silvestre or Squillaci, yeah, we're trying to win cups and titles, and Wengers no old person policy was reversed, to make 4 absolutely ridiculous signings, one at large expense and probably the worst of the lot.

I was still hacked off so I didn't watch the blues highlights on MOTD. I did managed to catch the challenge by Alcatax on Davies, and how that wasn't given as a penatly is beyond me, and that was at 1-1. He wasn't even looking at the ball.

P.s. On a lighted note, I'm glad Lehman back at Arsenal, his hissy fits with Drogba were the highlights of the season !!!!

I think Wenger has seen van der Sar at United and has tried to emulate that with Lehman to some extent, though I don't know how successful it will prove.

Also, the old players Wenger signed I would think were to add the much needed experience to the Arsenal side but because there performances have been poor it hasn't reflected very well on Wenger

It's very possible, you'd be crazy to rule them out.

The way Chelsea are playing currently they are lucky to scrape a win, but to win twice more and score 8+ goals more is asking a lot in 10 games imo
(at the beginning of the season they would have done that in 2 games let alone 10, but now it would require a massive turn around in form)

Just look at their last home game against Copenhagen, they were distinctly average - ok they were protecting an away lead fair enough, but they could barely get a shot on target and thats against a pretty average team.

Think they have enough to worry about staying in the top 4 without even thiking about winning the league (the players are capable without doubt, the form says it just wont happen)

Just like Utd's away form wont magically return before the end of the season, I cant see Chelsea going on a magic run of wins to secure the title

Given Utd's home form, the title depends on the West Ham, Newcastle (when ever that will be scheduled), and Arsenal away games. Chelsea at home may be a big game, but personally think 1) the three games above are all prior to it and much more difficult 2) At home, even against Chelsea , we are more likely to win, but even a draw would probably be - and cover about 95% of eventualities (with 5% covering bad refereeing)

It wouldn't take that much of a turn around considering in the previous 7 games Utd HAVE lost two more than Chelsea already. Utd 7 played, 4 wins, 3 losses, Chelsea, 5 wins 1 draw 1 loss, but thats only a 4 point gain.

Chelsea, despite playing some woeful football, have pretty much turned their form back around. Which is very strange as watching Chelsea it feels like they are playing just as badly as they were when they lost/drew so many games in the months before.

Well, the more obvious answer is, in the last 7 games Chelsea have got points from, Lampard has scored in 4 of them, Terry and Anelka have each scored in 3 of them. Lampard didn't look fit when he came back early, but has found his form again(somewhat) and Terry has been scoring some big goals for them aswell.

I really don't know who'd win the title, Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, even City, they are all doing their best to NOT win the league, all have had so many utterly awful games this year. IF this were almost any other season in the league I'd say Utd have led for ages, have too big a gap and are unlikely to drop enough points for Arsenal, let alone Chelsea to catch up, but this year, the actual football being played, any of the top 4 losing another 4 games wouldn't even raise an eyebrow from me.

Liverpool 11: Reina, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson, Spearing, Lucas, Meireles, Kuyt, Suarez, Carroll.

On paper it looks like a 4-3-3 but I suspect we'll set up similar to how we did against Utd with Meireles playing from the right but with the freedom interchange with Kuyt and Suarez.

He's not but he's better than Poulsen.

I suspect he'll be off in the summer. He'll make a career for himself at a bottom end Prem side though.
