**Football 19th-22nd March** 2010/2011

I personally think too many people desperately WANT dalglish to be a failure.
To be completely honest, I think a similar amount of people desperately want Daglish to be a success. As mentioned above, I could very easily see a lot of posters on here reacting very differently to similar results on and off the pitch under a Hodgson that hypothetically stayed on.

One man's freedom fighter and all that.

Masterminded the sale of Torres? :o

Hodgson - "Torres want to leave and doesnt want to play for the club"

Dalglish - " Torres wants to leave and doesnt want to play for the club"

The first one gets " He couldnt persuade him to stay, he is a joke, he doesnt understand us"

The second one gets "He knows about how big Liverpool are, no-one is bigger than the club, get rid"

Any Liverpool fan who says he would have accepted the Torres sale under Roy in the same manner as under "KK" is frankly a liar.

I think part of that comes down to positives and negatives. If you see plenty of positives in things , not just football but anything in life, it makes it easier to accept a negative. I saw very little positives from hodgson which makes the negatives all the more marked. I saw plenty of positives from dalglish so I can accept negatives easier. We all do it don't we with our managers? Be it Wenger, dalglish or fergie, we all measure their negative decisions against their positives.

The exit to the europa league hasn't been accepted, we were awful end of, but it is clear we can play pass and move in other matches rather than seeing a big lad upfront and all of a sudden think we can only hoof.

Torres going the way he did wouldn't have been frowned upon more under Hodgson, i don't think it could be the **** he is and the way he did it.

Carroll wasn't only up to Kenny and still many fans are sceptical, it is the owners who decide to fork out the cash and Comelli who makes the main recommendations, not Hodgson or Kenny. Also if Hodgson had beei given money to spend i'd be glad we're actually willing to hand out the cash rather than retain profit.

And saying he won't be referred to as 'King Kenny' anymore is daft.

Obviously i didnt mean the "KK" thing literally. I just mean that eventually people will see beyond the myth.

He ISNT a good manager. Liverpool will suss it out in time. i genuinely hope his failure doesnt tarnish his reputation at the club. I dont think it will.

How is that Dalglish masterminding his exit? Torres wanted to leave

If Roy Hodgson had masterminded the exit out of Europe to Braga, the sale of Torres and the purchase of Carroll for £35m do you think it would have been as accepted as it has been under "King Kenny"?

As others have said, the Torres thing was nothing to do with Kenny. He wanted to go, if it had been Kenny or Hodgeson at the helm is irrelevant. The same with Carroll to and extent, allthough he probably said he wanted the player, the money was most likely nothing to do wth him.

As for the Braga games, Liverpool were not good at all. However, Kenny has limited mangerial experience in Europe, he will learn though!

This is true.

Unfortunately you won't get Liverpool fans agreeing though.

EDIT: Unsure I agree with your 'He isn't a good manager' pitch though. Think he needs more time until that can be commented on.

Im very fair.

Its a shame you quoted that wee bit.

I can only take things on the experiences I have encountered in my life, suffice to say that in my lifetimes experiences I have only ever encountered about 2% of utd fans with anything even vaguely positive to say about Liverpool, hence why I said I figured. It was my immediate assumption that you were a utd fan, one which later proved to be the case.

I think you are wrong, Masc went when Hodgeson was in charge (although, before everyone saw how ****e he was...), and Hodgeson did not get torn apart for that. Similar situaton, the player wanted to leave.

Yeah and Jeremy Kyles lie detectors are 98% effective.......

I genuinely think Man Utd and Liverppol arent that far removed from each other so the fans cant be either, much as we would all hate to admit it.

I find Liverpool really interesting right now. Im sure Liverpool fans willl find Utd interesting when SAF retires.

Chelsea: £170.17m + William Gallas.
City: 186.5m.

It wouldn't be unfair to say that Gallas was 'worth' around £10m-15m, considering it was he and £5m cash that Chelsea handed over. I remember we were holding out for a valuation of near £25m.

I remember Chelsea having topped over £200m a while back, and had assumed this is still true with Torres and Luiz. However no Drogba or Anelka in that figure.

City have a few home grown players in there as well, though I think their own fans have edited Wiki on their own. Surely Gareth Barry moved for more than £10m. Thought it was nearly double that.

Everyone knew Masc was going long before Woy was in charge.

Isnt it that all lie detectors are 98% effective, or does Jeremy Kyle use some specific ones?

The only thing I think about fergie retiring is that I pity whoever has to follow him, if they win, people will say that they are only winning because of the team fergie built and if they lose they will say that they arent as good as fergie. Poisoned chalice of a position that first post fergie one will be.

That just shows how much crap City have bought.

For example

Adebarndoor - £25m
Ballobib - £20m
Dzeko - £28m

yet they play Tevez as the lone striker!

Dont even get me started on Bellamy, Jo..........etc etc

Thats why Jose wants the gig and why he will never come back to England to manage a club that would prevent him for managing Man Utd.

He has said all he has left to do is "leave a legacy" which is take over a club and be in charge from top to bottom.

Anything which brings mourinho back to the premier league is fine with me, league needs more managers like him.
