**Football 19th-22nd March** 2010/2011

Man City are dreadful to watch they have absolutely no intention of trying to beat the top teams, it would be a shame to see them in the Champions League and not Tottenham!

The more I see of Luiz the more I love this guy, he has taken to the EPL so damn fast looks outstanding and has everything you want from the defender and more.

Also can't say I have been Ramires biggest fan this season he looked awful at times, off the pace, poor passing and decision making but that goal was a great bit of individual skill.

Maybe I'm being a bit too hopeful here but.....

We've got to play both City and Spurs at Anfield. 2 wins there and a draw when City play Spurs and 4th spot might not be out of the question.

To think that 2 months ago Hodgson was talking about getting into a relegation battle.

edit: so you don't need to check; if those games pan out the way I hope, we'd be 3 points off City and 2 behind Spurs (providing they win their game in hand).

What a terrible performance,
Thank God were not still in Europe if it makes the players that tired!
2 good goals that shouldn't have happened.

At least you've admitted it was an awful performance, but it wasn't due to fitness.

It was down to a massive lack of ambition and drive due to having overpaid boons as players, and a manager who likes to play 8 defenders.

Still be 3 points of City at that point i think, think it is too little to late, Hodgepodge has done his damage.

I think it was down to fitness, Toure for example looked incredibly slow and sluggish throughout really. I disagree.

What's the excuse the rest of the time? He goes to teams top half of the table and just defends, same old tactics.

Tevez with 40% of Cities goals, without him clueless.

For the money they have spent and time they have had they still have quite a way to go.

So a player who was playing champions league football last season and has played on a wednesday and then saturdays in la liga many times is now not capable of that?

Wow, and city want to be taken as champions league/league contenders? You have the largest squad in the league lol

City have got a plenty large enough squad to compete in all competitions. You will have to admit at some point that you are not playing well. Take silva out of city's squad and they would look average most weeks.

And take out Tevez, and they would never score.

How many examples do i need to quote?

He did it at Porto

He did it at Chelsea. how did Grant do?, how did Big Phil do?
He did it at Inter. How did Rafa do?

At some point you will realise that he is actually good at what he does.

Yes, and Porto did so very recently before hand, and very recently after he left. He managed them partly during a great spell in their history.

Chelsea would have won more bar the freaks of the invincibles and then Ronaldo. No surprise that they won the double as soon as he left. To be fair as well Grant was only a penalty shoot out away from a CL but only stayed for a year.

Rafa - Don't be daft, he didn't even stay for a full season, yet still got a World Club Championship. He asked for financial backing and then was fired /resigned. Yet Mourhino spent E45.4m before his first season had even started at Inter, and in his first for Real will more than likely end up trophy less.

Which ever way you look at it, the coincidence isn't that he's picked up lots of trophies, but his ability to pick jobs where factors are already heavily in his favour. Had he stayed at Chelsea and won through the Ronaldo years, or stayed with Inter and won against stronger domestic competition I'd be thinking very differently.

Where did I say that he was better than him. It's puzzling why you even used Rafa as an example considering, as I'm sure you know, he stayed only for a few months.

You cant really count the world club championship as an indication of a managers ability.

Its something the teams who play in it just want to get out of the way.
