That defending from Arsenal was absolutely embarrassing. I felt very sorry for Gibbs having Silvestre on his side of the defence. That man is absolutely clueless. There were times when I was watching him and he didn't seem to be aware of where he was actually stood on the pitch. He is an absolute liability. Laying the ball off for Fabianski in the build up to Liverpool's second goal, he wasn't even aware of where Torres was and so the backpass didn't give Fabianski much of an option.

Arshavin's clinicalness, if that can even pass for a word, was brilliant. To have so little involvement for most of the game and score every attempt he has is very impressive.

I was so annoyed at the defending for the last goals. There must have been six Liverpool players in the box and just the four Arsenal defenders. No midfielders had tracked back. Very poor. Something they are really going to have to sort out for the games against Manchester United. How long is Djourou out for? They can't afford to play Silvestre, he is just too much of a liability.

Fantastic game though :D

Bring back senderos!! :p

Yes and you kicked the hell out of Torres and we got no free kicks then you got goal kicks when it should have been corners... it's football.. human errors happen and even with the replay it was very marginal - as I said everyone then stopped so you can't say it was a goal because no one reacted.

M.

you mean like the time torres kicked the ball into his own face, turned and threw himself into Silvestre then flopped to the ground and claimed he deserved a freekick, or the other 10 slightly different versions of Torres throwing himself to the ground? I think there was one real foul on Torres.

Frankly, I don't know why people use this game to say why the league is so good, the reason it was so exciting was the truly awful defending by both teams, though worse from Arsenal. Thats been exactly what La Liga has been for years, countless 4-4's in that league this year.

Joke of a performance, any other day you don't score 100% of your chances on goal and we'd have lost, another pitifully unable to keep the ball 4-5-1. Denilson was horrific, underhit almost every pass. Song, Denilson and in the last minutes Diaby never once covered a midfield runner into the box, where were they when Benny scored your 4th, thats right, watching the 3 players infront of them and standing completely still hoping someone else would take responsibility.

Sagna had a woeful game, from setting up chance after chance for Pool, to screwing up attacks to possibly scoring an own goal or kicking it into Benny's face, wasn't quite clear.

From the first minutes to the dying seconds Liverpool dominated and Wenger at no point tried a single thing to change it till very late and even then maintained the useless 4-5-1. Song missed about 5 throughballs that would have gotten us goals, in the last minute or two a simple pass to Fabregas left him and Theo against Agger on his own and Song passed into about the only 5metre square in the whole half that a Arsenal player wouldn't get to it first, complete knob head.

While Arshavin is pure quality in the final third he, along with Nasri are hopeless defensively and not great in the middle third of the pitch either, both by FAR at their best when in the middle and behind the strikers, like about 70% of our squad. More than anything both Arshavin and Nasri lack the pace to get back quick enough most of the time. We have no wingers, only strikers/very attacking central midfielders.

Fantastic game to watch, full of excitement, but yet another game full of proof arsenal suck as a 4-5-1 and song, denilson and Diaby don't belong anywhere near a top 4 club.

Im being deadly serious. I think our midfield don't have the legs to get over the finish line. Obviously I hope we do win it but, Carrick and Evra are way off form, Scholes is simply past it. The only way we will win it is if there is a massive improvement from now till the end of the season. He must play Anderson and Carrick along with Rooney & Tevez

The problem is, is that even when the top sides aren't playing well they are usually still too strong for the lesser sides. You were poor against both Villa and Sunderland and still had too much for them. Like i said, maybe if you drop points early then it's back on again but i just can't see another side other than maybe Arsenal beating you and i can't see 3 teams taking points off you between now and the end of the season.

Yea. I'll use the real rule and you use the 1 in your imagination that makes you think Arsenal were hard done by ;)

As said, I'll use the real rule as well. He was onside, helped by the clear daylight reference ;)

It's quite disappointing to think that we're capable of these performances, and that Wenger does have to spend to help get these. He's got some work to do in the summer, still needs to get rid of Denilson, Diaby et al, but Arshavin's a right step forward. Hopefully we'll be in 'Pool's/UTD's position this time next season.

i can't believe all the fapping in the studio about Liverpool, they've blown their title chances twice now ......Benayoun is motm apparently and Arshavin barely gets a mention having made Reina look second rate.

***** skin graft jeans Redknapp would love nothing more than Gerard dropping his pants so he can get some action - can his butt kissing be any more apparent?

Its quite ironic that man utd fans are complaining about added time; man utd over the last 20 years have always got 5 minutes when there was no reason for it (and they always scored); fergie always got his way, and you are CRYING now that liverpool got lots of injury time. Get a life.

Man utd fans are even resorting to posting pictures of arsenal players; signs of desperation if you ask me :p

20 years where do you get that from? Yet another moaning Liverpool fan more like.
