Football 5th-6th Feb 2011 **SPOILERS**

Have I slipped into the twilight zone or did Barton clearly leave a leg trailing so as to not make a two footed tackle. Are we also criticizing him for getting to the ball too fast? I'm hardly a Barton fan but what the hell is going on here?

Just because you get some of the ball it doesn't make taking the man out as well any more acceptable.

I don't post in here much but it looks like a fair challenge to me. Though i agree nolan should have been sent off. Disappointing Newcastle pulled it back was looking forward to winding my room mate up

I have no bias towards Newcastle, I've just watched that Barton tackle and it was a good solid tackle so stop crying you southern fancy dan pansies.

It looked to me as if Barton wasn't far off snapping Diaby's leg in half. I can see why he would get angry about that.

Such a *****.

Then get yourself along to the opticians with Arsene. Dear me we all seem to be turning into Wenger-esque foreigners where any challenge that touches the man when taking the ball is a red card omgwtfhorrendoushowdareyou challenge

it was a hard challenge but fair.

Theres no denying he got the ball, but it was still a leg breaker. Personally, I'd be annoyed if someone did that to me. I can g'tee you if Diaby's leg snapped he would had been sent off, even if he still got the ball and imo it looked pretty close to happening.

Even though the video above clearly shows him getting to the ball before Diaby?

I said "it looked like" not "definitely took Diaby out first". I still stick with what I said that it wasn't hard and fair, it was purely dangerous, Barton is nothing but a mouthy little gob****e without the talent to back it up. It's a shame he didn't get bummed slightly more in prison tbh.

I'm interested to know and I suspect that most who feel that was a bad tackle are under the age of 30? If that is the case it will go to prove my theory about the younger Sky educated generation killing what should be a physical game.

My age hasn't got anything to do with my opinion.

Diaby's leg bent during the tackle, Barton left the ground, wasn't in control at all and just because he got the ball doesn't make it any less dangerous or reckless. I'm not saying it's a sending off but he should have got a yellow card for it. You can just tell he was looking for a reaction by the way he dived to the floor afterward as well. Can't stand the guy.

What a stupid post

It was a dangerous tackle. You cant throw yourself into the side of someone's standing leg, go through them and get the ball. That can EASILY snap someones leg.

I'm all for a physical game, but this is football, not the UFC.
