Football and the Coronavirus

Really need to just postpone the weeks fixtures at this rate. Some clear advantages given to certain teams Vs others at pivotal points of the season.

Some teams being made to play with weakened line ups when others get a full rest and wait for their full strength team.

The problem with taking a break is that next season is due to start earlier than normal and will be a condensed season due to the WC. I'm sure there's some leeway but not a great deal before they have to start looking at cancelling things.

I cant help but think careers are going to get shortened or serious health issues/injuries are going to crop up if games keep getting crammed into schedules. At this point I find myself wondering if its probably a good idea to cancel next years WC. Frankly I've always been against the 2022 world cup anyway and I just dont think cramming in matches due to delays etc is a good thing for the players. If it were me, I'd scrap the 2022 World Cup and next years League Cup too and give the players some additional time to recuperate from the concertinaed competitions.

Agreed

I think they might give it until Boxing Day at least. Those fixtures are really important to the premier league. They’ll want to keep them no matter what.

Let me check the organisations priority list though....nope they've got money above little things like health.

spurs are going to struggle towards end of the season with amount of games they have to cram in
I would give up on the Europa league if I were them, they keep lobbying for a chance to play Rennes but they are 3 games behind in the league so do they really want to add Thursday nights into the equation, they could do with those midweek slots to catch up.

How dare you impugn the pedigree of the *checks notes* Europa Conference League by comparing it to the Europa League.

Unsure as to whether or not to go to Villa Park tomorrow... already said we wouldn't meet up at the pub before hand and instead just meet at the ground but even with it being open air it's a risk this close to Christmas. Desperately want to spend it with my family this year and would feel dreadful if I had to miss out on that due to isolation.

If you are desperate to spend it with your family, is going to watch a game against Burnley worth the risk :p
