Wow spurs have received a £175m loan to see them through the Covid19 crisis, how the **** can they need that much money
ESPN FC's Gab Marcotti and Julien Laurens debate whether Zoom calls with fans during games will create a better experience for fans and players. The pair also discuss Danish club FC Midtjylland’s solution of “drive-in” football games.
They're highly likely to miss out on the CL and possibly even the Europa League, putting as much as a £100m hole in their finances (including lost matchday revenue for those extra games) even before you get to the corona situation. With the TV rebate and games being played behind closed doors for the rest of this season (and likely reduced commercial income linked to that) they're likely to be another £30m odd down. Then you we're facing a very real prospect of no fans in stadiums for at least part of next season and only limited capacities when they do initially return. Spurs matchday revenue (exluding the CL games I already accounted for) would have likely been worth another £80m odd - most of that will now be gone. And then of course you have all the non football events - the NFL, Joshua fight etc which have now been cancelled.Wow spurs have received a £175m loan to see them through the Covid19 crisis, how the **** can they need that much money

Yep I totally agree and there are clubs even at championship level that are at risk of going to the wall because of Covid19, if they are borrowing money because of stadium payments, lack of fans and loss of non-football events for the next 8-12 months then that is fair enough, but I disagree if they are borrowing money due to the lack of European competitions that should come from the owners. The lost European money is just an added issue. All clubs are going to be hit with no supporters in the stadium and no more so than Spurs having just built a £1bn stadium. Unfortunately for them they were already facing a touch situation by missing out on the CL, the corona situation just made it doubly hard.
Is there a possibility they could 'do a Leeds'?The lost European money is just an added issue. They're not borrowing because of a lack of CL football. Had corona not happened then their finances would have been very tight but they'd have mananged. The corona situation has made a tight situation into a very very bleak situation.Yep I totally agree and there are clubs even at championship level that are at risk of going to the wall because of Covid19, if they are borrowing money because of stadium payments, lack of fans and loss of non-football events for the next 8-12 months then that is fair enough, but I disagree if they are borrowing money due to the lack of European competitions that should come from the owners.
No. They're owner is a multi billionnaire that would step in if the **** really hit the fan. He's happy to take very cheap government loans instead though. Is there a possibility they could 'do a Leeds'?
Just goes to show how teams can “do a Leeds” and massively overextended themselves, I suppose I’m one to talk our parasite owner put our club staff on government furlough so he didn’t have to pay them out of his own money, even though the club made just under £40m profit this year, shows what kind of person he is.They're not borrowing because of a lack of CL football. Provisional list for the first fixtures here

Those fixtures have now been confirmed. Venues for Everton - Liverpool and City - Liverpool are yet to be confirmed but all others, including Liverpool - Palace (which is the most likely title winning game) will be played at home stadiums.
In which case I hope the game gets moved to Old Trafford. Imagine getting to beat Everton at Old Trafford to win the title - it would only be better if our next game was City and they had to give us a guard of honour.Don't worry we'll spank City so you can win it against Everton.
BBC got given a right couple of pony games lol
@Marky will be along soon to put us straightYup, that with the game Amazon got at the end of the month is essentially saying Crystal Palace aren't worth watching lmao.
