Football Fixtures 27-28th September *Spoilers*

Just watched the highlights of the derby again and noticed something about Cahill's red card.

Does anybody know whether Cahill was actually sent off for the challenge on Alonso? I ask as iinm it was Riley who got in trouble for not sending off Ashley Cole vs Spurs last year for not turning around and talking to him, and similarly Cahill refused to go to Riley after he called him over a couple of times and then Riley walked over to Cahill and showed him the red. Im just wondering if Riley sent him off for discent.

Thats what those of us watching in the pub thought. The foul alone warranted a booking. The lack of respect got him sent off.
 
Awful team selection. Our tactics were shot to bits by Jenas handball... all down hill from there!

BAE and Gilberto are poor players, Zokora will never be able to find a Spurs player with a pass and Jenas is not going to get any better.

We miss Hutton, King and Bale at the back....

Spurs are in a mess right now.
 
Don't think it's a surprise to see Newcastle and Spurs at the bottom. Newcastle have obviously had their off field problems but both have woeful defences and nothing has been done to improve them.
 
No surprise? I'd say it's a huge surprise, if someone asked me to name the bottom three before the season started Newcastle and Spurs wouldn't be in it.

Zokora was one of our best players today, and in true Ramos style, he took hin off. :rolleyes:

Yep. Like you say Spurs have always been shockingly poor at the back (their midfields nothing special too), the only thing different for them this year is that they've lost their threat going forward too.

tbh, several of them are simply much better than current members of the first squad. But like with THeo Wengers a little girly man about actually playing them in the premiership. How many injuries may have been avoided using the players we have available rather than rushing players back. He gets credit for playing them in the Carling cup but lets be honest, its because he doesn't care about it. Unfortunately he just doesn't "really" use them when he really can.

Ramsey and Wilshere are both far better and more effective over the entire pitch than Denilson and both can obviously play the wing very well. Eboue/Fabregas again showed they actually have a good understanding passing between each other and with Eboue a million times better than Denilson defensively I can't see why we aren't playing say, Wilshire, Eboue, Fabregas, and whatever winger we have available. Vela plays on the left wing very well and played there while on loan in spain. We have so many options and he keeps going with denilson and Song in central, its a joke.


I kept saying Spurs would get it together eventually and find some form, not really be in danger, I still think that in general though the idea they might not is starting to gain a little momentum. I mean, Pompie are pretty terrible defensively and really Spurs didn't do much of anything today.
