Football manager 2016

I've stumbled across a free transfer bug, when your balance is negative, which is annoying. But SI are aware of it at least. But the regen faces oh my.. I just cannot stand to look at them.

Made me laugh that changelist!

Just discovered a really cool feature I didn't know about, when you change jobs there's a screen to choose the staff you want to bring with you (unless they don't want to) and the staff you want to keep/get rid of at your new club. So much better!

Who are you playing as, this has been in the game for a while now if you are playing as a club that has a lower reputation than them they will ask for astronomical wages

Chelsea, so not that low rep - especially when De Vrij then joined Man Utd for 97k p/w.

I know what you are saying, but I have never had 350k p/w as asking wages, regardless of the team reputation. Unless it was Messi/Ronaldo etc.

That looks to be the cheapest at the moment, although it doesn't include beta access. You can get an extra 5% off at cdkeys.com with their Facebook code.

hi guys, gonna buy the game myself in the future.
how's the match game engine? 2015 was pretty bad before the first 2 patches.

Transfer market is brutal this year if you have a small budget. I spend ages and ages scouting for a free/cheap player that would fit my team make a bid and every single time another team comes from nowhere and pinches him :o

Oh indeed. Not only players either, I've had staff poached from my club every season. Brutal is the best way to describe it.

I have a weird issue in the Beta.

I bought Gil Romero for Norwich, had a good first season with. At the end of the season he demands a new contract, so I agree and make him an offer that he accepts. However, before the contract is signed I get a message telling me he has failed his work permit so can't play for me and the new contract fails. I have no foreign affiliate, so can't send him away, no foreign clubs want to loan him and potential transfers under value him. Besides which, I'd like to keep. The thing is, the game still let's me play him, he has started my first few league games. Problem is, he's upset with me for not giving him a new contract...

Yeah I think it will let you play him until the end of his contract (as that is how long the work permit lasts) You should be able to get him a permit with an appeal though I would have thought unless they've made it a lot stricter.

How are folks getting on with it now? I've been in one club since the off and it's now 2019 in my save.

For the first time ever I have been downgraded by my chairman. I have gone from being a professional club to a semi-professional club due to debt levels, which were rather high. I've always seen it work the other way, from semi to pro. I've also lost my ability to scout in Europe. Now I can only scout in Scotland :D. My staff numbers have dwindled, and all full-time contracts will now have to become part-time. On the plus side, apart from my very very best player, everyone else has happily taken a pay cut. My debt has gone from nearly £2 million in the red to just over £200k in the red. But the club is still considered 'insecure'. This has major knock on effects season to season, but as I have never been in this position before it's all rather new to me.

It's very interesting stuff!
There are a lot of things I'm seeing that I really like in this release.

The latest patch seems to have fixed my issue. Just been installing all my kits, logos and german team fix etc. Loathed to start a full save until release date this week. Just building up a player shortlist and staff list to start a decent save with Spurs or Arsenal before getting round to a long save with my beleagured Newcastle.

One thing I wish they would add is that when you add a new manager at the start of the game, the manager you're replacing is removed from the club history if they have only taken over this summer (Steve McClaren, Claudio Ranieri, Slaven Bilic) so it doesn't look silly they were only there for 3 weeks or whatever. It's just my OCD kicking in. Also if you come in and take over Roberto Martinez for example, the news article would read he has left by mutual consent or for personal issues etc, just to add a bit of realism to the start of the game.

Finding matches a little more erratic then previous years;

I find that I'll go through a pre-season creating a tactic, normally get off to a fairly good start to the season where it seems to work well then all of a sudden my players stop being able to tackle, close down opposition, or win headers which results in the opposition walking through my team.

Now I'm willing to go on the basis that I'm at least partly at fault and that maybe I'm not managing the players well enough, but it's not like I'm suddenly putting out teams of 70%/65% fitness/match fitness players or making any serious changes to what has been working up until that point.

Will keep trying, maybe I need slightly bigger changes for different opposition this year, normally I stick to a formation that suits my players and just alter some of the instructions or roles according to home/away/tough opponents, but the transition from winning 6 on the trot in the league (including playing Liverpool and Arsenal) to looking like a pub team trying to cope with Barcelona just seems to happen like a switch, and it can be 3 - 4 games before things start to look any different.

UI on the whole is much better, I'm not sure why but it just seems to flow in a way previous versions never did, a lot more intuitive.
