Football manager 2016

Quite enjoying playing this on classic/touch mode, never bothered on the previous versions and just kept to the full fat game but thought I'd give it a go and it's a million miles better for me. Really cba for the training and press side of things and touch mode slims these down nicely. Playing with Notts county, never realised how good their squad actually is for that level, just hit the new year and I'm top on goal difference.
 
Is anyone playing this on a low spec PC? ie. a low spec CPU and low RAM? How does it play, playable or unbearable?

I'm trying to work out what specs I can get away with? I'm eyeing up 2 tablets, one has 4GB and the other 8GB, now I know it's obvious that the 8GB will be fine, but how about the 4GB?

I'm playing on a Surface Pro 3 (i5, 4GB RAM).

It plays OK. I turn off the 3d pitch as I don't bother with it. With 5 nations, 10 leagues, medium database it doesn't run that slowly.

Beta crashed a few times, and I haven't smashed it with update yet so hopefully the crashes was just beta related.

Only issue I have with it is it makes my Surface run very hot. Seems to smash GPU over CPU even with 3d pitch off.

I'll try and get some game time in now it's updated and come back to you whether it still crashes or not :)
 
I play on a rMBP that is a 2.4GHz i5 and 4GB RAM, plays fine - as above I've not bothered with 3D pitch for a while but runs fine. That's 3 nations, about 26,000 players.
 
The faces are better proportioned since the 16.1.1 patch, and they look better for sure. But they still need a hair mod in my opinion. The hair mods for 15 don't work unfortunately.

What benefits does this have to the gameplay instead of just playing through naturally.

Seriously, having a difficult time. Loving the game though there are so many improvements. I think I may have come across a chairman bug though and am currently passing save game files over to SI to look at. He keeps selling my best players from under me..

Who are you playing with? I started with Braintree but not really made any progress due to Fallout 4 :o
 
haha.. Poor Chelsea.. No, Ayr in League 1 in Sunny Scotland. I got them into the Premiership in 2022, then got pushed back in the Champ in 2023 :D

Thoroughly enjoying the challenge.

It's not worth leaving your wife over though.. Maybe that's a bit extreme ;)

I've ordered the Dell Venue Pro 11 7140, with the top CPU, 256GB SSD & 8GB RAM, it's on its way from the states as it was a heck of a lot cheaper than the UK including taxes etc... so I don't have any feedback yet but going by peoples comments it should fly on this thing :cool:
 
Is there an issue with the game around injuries at the momennt?

Ticking along, full fitness. no issues then in one week between games I have lost 2 strikers and 2 defenders to 6 week plus injuries.

A known issue or just terrible luck?
 
There have been a few people expressing their displeasure at the amount of injuries but SI say that if anything their model is little more lenient than real life. There are quite a few things you can do to limit injuries, or bad ones at least but some are just bad luck obviously.
