Football *Spoilers* 26/27/28 April

I wasn't aware anyone thought Man Utd should have had a penalty for the tackle on Carrick. The penalty was the one where Ballack wasn't looking at the ball or attempting to play it (unlike Ronaldo), and that was a penalty.

That's what I meant in my message Squirrel if that's what you were wondering.

Ferguson had a good whinge about it in his post-match interview. Brief it was.

The Ballack on Ronaldo thing was something that happens once in at least every game. Stupid from Ballack of course, but if a penalty was given every time the game would get a bit stupid.

Ronaldo's dramatics don't help in assessing any sort of situation either - be it fan, pundit or referee.

To be fair Ronaldo didnt do anything apart from grapple with him a bit trying to get out of his hold

Agreed but incidents like the Marquez one where it was shoulder to shoulder and he throws himself to the ground claiming a foul, doesn't help his reputation. It undoubtedly wasn't a dive but the way in which he claims any sort of contact on him as a foul doesn't endear him to officials or fans.

2-2

Frenetic last 20 mins - glad we (villa) showed spirit to come back twice to grab a hugely important draw.

Pretty poor defending all round led to the goals - Reo-Coker daydreaming for Yobo's and Lescott's pants turning brown when having to mark Big John.

I think today was evidence as to why MON won't pay £10m for Scott Carson.

All to play for - hoping Arsenal want to put on a real show in their last home game to do us a favour.

Two seperate incidents

One is was a shoulder barge and one he was being visibly held back from getting in position, i dont think a shoulder barge in a previous match swayed the official tbh

Ive moved on

I said before the game we could lose and still win the league, you seem to think im bitter :/

You probably will. You've been far more consistent. Had we won the games against Spurs, Villa, Wigan etc Chelsea would have walked the league.

It's just that you seem to be continuously moaning about an incident that was 50-50 and in a game you didn't deserve to get anything from.

Let's both leave it there and wait until the Champions League Final to have a "friendly" discussion :) ;) :D

A draw would more than likely be enough for Villa. Everton still have to play Arsenal and Newcastle and iirc Villa have Wigan and West Ham.

Indeed we do. Really enjoyed the game today, I went bonkers when we scored 30 seconds after the restart, couldn't believe it!

I like our chances vs Wigan but West Ham are such a weird team, you never know what they'll produce. 5th goes to Everton, IMO.

Im pretty sure i read an article by Graham Poll where he said that he felt that some refs will subconsciously not give decisions to some players based on past antics even if they were being fouled. He even mentioned the way Ronaldo looks to the heavens when decisions don't go his way and that some refs may not take too well to that sort of reaction.
