For the gym rats

Diet is OK but not great. I do need to up my protien and get back into a proper routine.

Routine change was about 3 months ago.

I took a week out just before I started to notice the lack of energy.

No not really training to failure. I cut from 4X10 to 3X10 which helped a lot as I was upping my weights and 4X10 was killing me. I do find that I'm shattered after a couple of different exercises so the remaining 3 or 4 are almost pointless as I do say 1 or 2 sets then I'm really struggling.

It seems there's a very fine line for me with regards to weights. For example on the peckdeck I can do 3X10 at 77KGs and another 3X10 if I wanted without any probs. However at 84KGs (next increment) I'm struggling after the first 10 reps. Its like 77 is too easy but 84 is way too hard. If that makes sense?

I'm off to the gym after work so will see how I get on. Just picked up a nice Chicken Pasta salad, ham baguette and can of trusty redbull. I'll report back later :)

Wholemeal pasta, Wholemeal bread? Sugar free redbull?

If the answer to all of them is not yes, it's no wonder your energy drops off during a workout.

White bread, standard issue pasta and full fat Redbull.

Ham baguette now, pasta salad about 4ish and redbull on the way to the gym.

edit. This isnta typical day. I usually have 2 X chicken breasts and pasta for lunch or 2 X tins Makeral Rice for lunch.

Its difficult to eat throughout the day as the other officer goers don't undestand the need to eat. So I only get one meal during the day.

I work in an office and I manage :)

Eating foods like that is not good any time of the day really, especially pre-workout.

You need something that is going to provide sustained energy.. wholemeal pasta, wholemeal bread, oats etc. Not sugary stuff

Redbull is truly, truly awful stuff. It has been banned in a number of countries because it is that bad for you. Taurine, Asparteme, Far too much Caffeine, Enough sugar to make a Wedding Cake.

Eat Apples, they kickstart your metabolism far better than Redbull can.

I get into the office at 8:30 and finish at 17:00. I only get my lunch hour to eat and as my boss sits not too far away I can't sneak food during the day unless I take it to the toilet.

This isnt a usual day for me. As I've not been sleeping too well I was a little late getting up today so didnt have time to prepare my usual lunch. Won't happen again :)

I don't understand why your boss would have a problem with you eating at your desk if it doesn't effect your work? I don't take a lunch break and just eat my food as and when at my desk where ever I'm working - even if the customer thinks I eat too much :P

Most people in my office snack during their working hours.

I simply chomp on some chicken, cheese, drink some milk or eat a sandwich during my working ours, and have something a little more 'proper' at dinner time.

We only get 30 minutes for lunch and don't have any set breaks (obviously you can get a drink whenever you want).
