Ford Mustang to be released in EU

I don't think all dealers will sell them, I asked a local dealer (Farnborough Inchcape) and they said that they wouldn't be getting them and that only certain dealers will be getting them. Gowrings (Reading, Newbury, etc) will get them though. The Newbury one had an Ecoboost on display a month ago.

Only the new "Ford Stores" are able to sell these and the new Vignale cars from new. There are going to be a small number of these (in relation to actual Ford dealers) dotted around the country.

edit: just looked - there are 25 in the UK and NI.

I just noticed on their dealer locator you can now select 'Mustang Dealer (Ford Store)'. My closest one is Guildford which isn't too bad.

Hi there

Spoke to my local Ford who I gave £1000 way before the championship league, they have confirmed it all but are checking all is fine but don't see an issue as I was the first person in the UK to put my name down.

Gonna visit dealer today/tomorrow and I guess make a decision, they are seeing if they can sort me the Recaros. :)

No idea why they can't fit Recaros though. The European cars will have it so how is the UK different in that regard?

If they're making them available for Europe then it may be a RHD issue.

Having differing seats for driver and passenger is fairly common (Drivers seats often have more adjustment and/or better padding) so in order to offer the Recaro option in the UK they'd need to be able to justify the costs of tooling up for manufacture of them in RHD form. Depending on the precise construction of the seats and the expected take up of any option they may have decided it's not worth offering it.

Jebus christ, so much want. V8 coupe in orange for me please.

If only I wasn't a pauper, I will be rummaging under the sofa cushions tonight to see if i can find £32k under there.

haha, I know that feeling! You never know, in a few years time we maybe the only 2 in Wiltshire with a v8 Mustang :D

Going to the Ford dealer tonight to discuss. I think I'll put a deposit down and take it from there. I'm undecided on if I want the car, but figured the £1000 is refundable and a worst case scenario is selling it when I get the car as the demand will be high.

Pain that the nearest Ford dealer (for Mustangs) to me is in either Inverness or Edinburgh :(. Probably for the best haha.

First batch of 500 cars all have deposits/names against them, which customers will get October-December. :)

I was gonna visit today, but too busy, so shall sort tomorrow/Friday and make my order official or not. :)

So I heard. I'll see what they say anyway.

£32,995 on the road for V8 base, about £35,500 with all the options you can chose in UK. :)

That's an incredible price for what you get!!!

Has anyone found out the tax rates for the models yet? I did some searching but found nothing solid!

From Pistonheads:

We've also got CO2 numbers for the first time - of obvious relevance to anyone planning to run one as a company motor. They're predictably high, but they're not catastrophically bad, for the EcoBoost at least - the manual four-cylinder Coupe has an official rating of 179gk/km (although the slushy autobox pushes that up to 228g/km). The V8 is, ahem, less good - with the manual Coupe version scoring 299g/km, and with the auto doing better at 281g/km.
