Ford Mustang to be released in EU

Would be the eco boost model, the V8 is $10k more, then 25% higher fuel consumption and requires 98 Ron fuel which is 25% more than regular unleaded. I can't justify spending the extra for a bit more performance and noise.

Have you got that the right way round? In the US the Ecoboost can run on regular gas but it only makes 275hp (down from 310) which is quite a drop! I think the V8 only loses a few hp on regular.

quick but not as quick as Gibbo is making out :p

What will be the 0-100 MPH with the supercharger?

Anything that starts with a 0 will never be its strong point, RWD, Manual it will never compete with something like a GTR, 911 etc.

30-130mph, a different story, well with a supercharger anyway.

Here is how the previous Shelby model goes, which is around 660BHP:

Looks very quick! :)

That's pretty insane acceleration. Personally I'd still opt for the Challenger SRT Hellcat :p Shame they aren't sold in the UK like the Mustang :(

Went and sat in one a few weeks back, they look great in the flesh and very aggressive. The black wheels and orange isn't for me but putting that aside I think it looks fantastic. Can't wait to drive one next month!

That's Bill Shephard isn't it? I passed by there a few weeks back and didn't see the orange one :(.

It is, I think they had only just finished getting it converted to UK spec when I saw it. You can't drive it though as it's for sale with no miles, they have a demo car coming in within the next month.

Ah, that would explain why it wasn't there. I'm not surprised they aren't doing any test drives. I did manage to sit in one when they did the launch a few months ago though. They had the non-PP GT.

I am quite surprised people are buying LHD ones at nearly 44k, when a UK car is only 33k.

The USA spec does have the bonnet vents and sequential indicators and more power out the box. Of course all things easily fixed on a UK car. :)

I don't know whats wrong with me or how I became so dull but I still can't get excited about these. I'd walk past one if it's sitting on the lot when I pick my US rental later this year :(

Meanwhile the prospect of a Cadillac CTS has my anticipation levels really building

Maybe you've seen too many Challengers, which IMO make the Mustang look a bit humdrum.

I agree. I think I'd pick the Challenger over the Mustang given the choice. Just something about it in orange or black that I love. :D

Challengers are very loud in styling but in fairness probably the best looking muscle car currently on the market. Problem is they are nothing special to drive and are not that quick, think with driver and fuel your looking at over 2 tonne of car.

The Mustang is far higher quality on materials, faster and far better handling. But out the box the styling of the Mustang I think is a bit under-stated, they definitely need larger/wider wheels on the Mustang and another 10-20mm lower, completely transforms the look and stance. :)
