Ford Mustang to be released in EU

Looks insane! I would prefer bigger zorts though! Maybe a quad set like on the Shelby? Who can photshop some on there... Need to hear that roar!

The amount of pipes has no impact on sound, I will stick with dual pipes and either go with Ford/Borla racing full x-pipe exhaust as recorded and in previous videos in this thread as sounds very old muscle style.

Or might consider a full American Racing headers, x-pipe and catback setup a lot more money but equally a lot more power/torque and no doubt louder.

The beauty of the UK cars not coming for several more months is the Americans really are being guinea pigs with trying out exhaust as unfortunately so many of the nicer sounding systems drone really badly, so far the only exhaust guaranteed to not drone is the Ford Racing one, just happens to be one of best sounding also. :)

That Hennessey car looks good, but there's no way in hell that I'd send any money their way. Waaaaaaaaay too much bad history surrounding that company.

Not heard that, but for bodykit parts cannot really go wrong. But on supercharger front I am leaning heavily towards sticking with Ford for very obvious reasons. :)

Had some more email discussions with the dealer in the US over the weekend, and as well as the 5.0 test drive they are going to locate a Shelby GT350 for the misses to look at. Totally pointless as she'll no doubt turn her nose up at a track based car, but she's insisting on looking at something we won't get over here and it seems her old man is keen, so why not.

I've been trying to get a list down of the things we definitely wouldn't be able to get on a UK version as far as extra's go, I don't suppose anyone has seen anything that is blatantly obviously missing on the UK ones that would be a major bonus to have?

If you can afford it, buy a GT350/GT350R its a completely amazing car, completely unique front suspension for feel/feedback, 5.2k flat plane crank V8.

In short Ford built a race car like Porsche build a GT3, it is essentially the full on pre-modified Mustang by Ford as even Ford are saying any modifications will void the warranty as they do not want them touched or messed with.

I think any of these in UK will go for huge money as will be hugely rare over here, like less than 5-10 cars most likely. :)

I'll make sure her old man realises. He was looking at an old Ferrari as a bit of an investment but was so taken by the Mustang when we went to the dealer he was seriously looking at one for himself. He wouldn't say what the Ferrari would cost but it sounded like a whole lot more than the Mustang, so maybe that's the one for him. They need a car for use in the states anyway and then he could ship this over at a later date.

This is the one the other half has been eyeing up and we'll hopefully be test driving -

Brian Johnson in his new series Cars that Rock just test drove a 2015 Mustang with super charger kit, his face told the story and he loved it so much he actually even bought himself one.

Programme was on Quest no idea if it's on catchup TV but the acceleration looked brutal, it was supposedly 627BHP and the noise was insane inside the car. :D

Quest has a catchup app on youview BT box so I imagine you can get it.

I've recorded that and will have to watch, he's hard work though, was a bit mental in the Jaguar one and driving the F Type taking his hands off the wheel motions after doing 170mph

Yeah his driving did seem questionable, quite a weapon behind the wheel. :D

Just makes me even more excited to get mine. :D

Ford Racing/Roush stage 1 supercharger kit, yours for $6795 (£4500) with a guaranteed minimum output of 627BHP / 500lb/ft:-

That is at the wheels, hence why Ford guarantee minimum of 627BHP at flywheel as a conservative figure, as most cars produce around 700BHP. :D :D
Going to need a lot of volunteers to sit in the boot of this Mustang at Powerstation, be good to see over 700 horsepower on the dyno. :D :D D

I shall be taking the stage 2/3 kit once available from Ford. :)

Here is full specification of the car Brian Johnson drove and then immediately purchased, Ford has produced 143 of these special editions for US market at a cost of $62,000 each:

So glad Ford/Roush have released official supercharger kits, will make the upgrade very easy for me and an easy DIY in the driveway. :)

Hi there

Done a lot of research in supercharger kits for 2015 Mustang and it seems the Ford/Roush and Whipple seem best options.

I'm a bit put of the official Ford solution as you had to grind parts of the front of engine and rear cross member, certainly don't like idea of doing that. The Roush/Ford is a TVS unit and develops huge torque pretty much from idle which is great but also can mean traction issues.

The Whipple is a 2.9l super charger and requires no modification or grinding at all, it is literally a bolt on and also has twice the cooling ability, resulting in more horsepower with less boost, good for engine. It's a twin screw type so still plenty of torque but not as instant on the torque low down so less traction issues.

Roush is £4500 and good for 600-800BHP with sweet spot being around 675 horsepower.

Whipple is £5000 and is good for 700-1000BHP with sweet spot in the 800 region.

Whipple sell the kit with a 3.75" pulley which gives around 750-800BHP.

I am tempted to get the Whipple as nothing needs destroying to fit it but request the larger 4" pulley with less boost and see how the car drives and puts down power with close to 700 horses.

Then if I ever want more the Whipple supplied 3.75" pulley gives a further 60 horsepower and another 50 horsepower also comes from the Whipple throttlebody also.

So start with 700 and if that bores me 800+ is easy achievable with the standard supplied kit.

Still got to get the car first and enjoy it but it's nice knowing huge power is possible and safe. :)

Mad that the engine can take so much extra power with no internal work, must cost Ford a boat load more money than needed to build these engines!

The tuning scene is absolutely huge in the US. If Ford released an engine in the Mustang that could only take say 500bhp, the tuners would desert it in droves. If the tuners leave, then the average man on the street won't buy it either.
