Ford Mustang to be released in EU

The cars in my sig run a 5.0 V8 and a 4.4 V8, fuel economy doesn't come into it :p

I think it looks really good, of course the proof will be in what it feels like irl. If its nice I would seriously consider one which is something I never thought I would think about a Ford.

The one shot of the cab I have found on the Ford website looks really good.

Hopefully some European based specialists will get hold of the 4 cylinder turbo and get some mods out for it pretty sharpish.

If this handles properly, it could be a realistic replacement for my S2000. I was planning to wait until F-Type V8Rs drop to sensible money but a piece of American muscle is very appealing. Cabrio though of course.

This is my thinking re an SL500 (but 2+2) replacement Rilot.

I was thinking and fairly set on buying a BMW F12 640i or 650i, but they seriously lack the "je ne sais quoi"

That said, it will probably be horrible. And I will buy the BMW.

I'll be amazed if it does not, infact I think the chances are this will actually be a very good handling car.

I mean if Ford are stating it already laps faster than the BOSS 302 on a track, where the live axle was not much of an issue, it is clear the new suspension setup, wider track, lower COG is working very well.

I am confident this car will be great handling, my only worry is the weight, if they can keep it sub 1700kg not too bad, but closer to 1500kg the better.

My Mustang weighed 1640kg with supercharger and it handled very nicely even with a live rear axle, but it was no 911, if the new car with inline-4 engine and IRS can be as close to 1550kg it should be a superb handling car, suspect the V8 will be over 1600kg though.

I can see the inline-4 being the sweeter handling car, but I don't think I could ever buy a Mustang without a V8 in it, sorry its just not a Mustang unless its got a V8 in it for me.

Hmm in two minds myself, yes it looks like a fantastic revision and interesting that it's coming to the UK market however part of the appeal of previous Mustangs or similar type cars is the fact that they are imports. The rareness/fun of owning a car that you don’t see every day on the roads makes it feel a little more special (and to a certain extent offsets some of its short comings).

Well look forward to seeing the final pricing and also wonder how this will impact current costs (inc insurance) of the imports.

Hi there

Right now two cards are very appealing to me which would replace the 911:-

1. V8 2015 Mustang
2. BMW M4 in 2015 when they are 12-18 months old and depreciated like a bomb. :D

Both get a thumbs up for me. But the mustang more so because it is a V8.

Mustang for me.

The M4 to me looks like a Marmite car, its on the Ugly side and I don't like it, but the figures sound really promising for it though.

I was quite amazed to see the new M4 is not just lighter than the outgoing M3 but also lighter than the E46 M3 too.

Than factor in it's 431BHP from a twin turbo, I think its easy to assume some simple breathing mods and a remap, that's gonna be over 500 horses in something weighing 1450kg. :D

That's 345BHP per tonne! :D :D :D

This is why you buy the V8:-

It sounds very mean and that is just at idle. :D :D :D
