I am torn on the side decals. Some days I like them and some days I don't so for now will be leaving them off.

Very true, I am only changing the one badge for now and it was £29 from Ford. :)

If I decide to go for a true stealth type look, black badges, black/dark wheels then I will do your approach and plastidip the badges on the car.

Side decals for me are a subtle thing hardly noticable being black on grey but enough to make my car unique and it looks like something no one else has done and being Ford authentic parts will be correct fitment etc.

What are these spears you talk off?

No it was $44 thrown in with one of my orders from Ford USA, so free shipping. :)

I hate those spears, they don't look factory at all, sorry think they look cheap and nasty. You need to be extremely careful with strips/decals because they can either look amazing or very cheap, nasty or just out of place.
 
Finally went to see one at Ford Warwick and now only the test drive stands in the way :)

They have a black GT convertible and looked really nice, it also looked massive but from comparing sizes it's about 5 series size (a little bit wider with the big mirrors). Had a good play with the seats/switchgear/interior and it all looks good, better than I expected.

Would love the recaros though, maybe a future option.

Got a link? I'm currently trying to find a list of good retailers who ship to the UK with good contact and shipping options. Trying to order the decklid from NewTakeOff and they seem to have stopped responding to emails after agreeing shipping price. I just need to place the order but can't get hold of them.

I quite like the spears. Although the S197 ones did look better. I'm still playing with ideas. So undecided its not even funny anymore.
 
Going to look at a GT350 this week, there's one for sale right by me that I'm interested in. Seems all the dealers are gouging though, there's one new one in blue that's $100k over sticker at a local dealer.

If I can't buy this white one, I'll probably just get a custom order done or get a 350R and stick the tech package in it :)

Gibbo have you ever contacted Karen or Andy about your order? I'm struggling to get my order number or dates from my dealer. He is awful at sending me any detail or screenshots.

Looking through the threads on M6G a lot of people use Karen and Andy but can't find their emails or if they can find orders without order no etc.

Unfortunately a lot of the dealers are putting MSRP on the websites, then when you call them, they're only taking "offers" over MSRP. I'm not paying a penny over sticker for a Mustang, regardless of whether it's a 350 or not. - I'd rather order a GT350 for next year instead.
 
Just popped to Allen ford in Swindon, they have a few in Coupes and Convertibles so finally got to have a good look around, for such a large car it is pretty tiny inside, they have a V8 demonstrator and for the next for days at least have a Focus RS for show if anyone wants a nosey.

Dark Grey definitely looks more menacing that the Red on the Stang, its a nice car, the interior seemed quite nice, certainly better than the 370z Nismo I'm currently considering, i think the alloys that come as standard on the GT do nothing for the car at all though.

Could see the headrest doing my nut in when I have a helmet on.
 
Going to be a few more round here soon... 8 of them just got delivered to the local dealer (Race Red, Ruby Red, Black, Magnetic, White and Triple Yellow)... All GT models as well... in fact the only colours not there are Guard and Orange...

Really gutted we don't get the 350 here, it seems like the one to have! I think its the first car where I genuinely am annoyed it wont be in right hand drive.

I wonder what security systems they have, as they seem like a prime target for thieves wanting the bits off them to sell on.
 
New trunklid panel has been ordered from NewTakeOff. Finally got my invoice and paid up so will see how long it takes to get here.

The guys exact words in email when I asked about shipping time were "no clue"....

Best method with some US companies, LESS IS MORE. Loads of UK guys really struggle with takeoffparts, I think if you ask to many questions they just cannot be bothered with you.

I played it simple, said I want this, ship to this address, invoice me, was nice and easy, took 4-7 days, so not long. :)
 
I definitely get that impression with them. Hopefully its quick. It has technically been bought for my 6 year old to give me as a present for Christmas lol.

Will start shopping for others bits over the break too. The Mrs has said she doesn't like the idea of an exhaust due to neighbors so going to have to convince her!

Its an amazing car, I actually prefer the regular 350 to the R as the R I dislike the wheels and am not sure about the rear seat delete. I'd rather get the regular 350 tech package and just buy the 350R carbon spoiler at a later day as that is the only thing the R has for me that the 350 needs.

To be honest I knew the S550 platform was rumoured to be good but never expected Ford to have a car that could rival some of Europes finest sport/super cars, really quite an achievement. Also the Roush Stage and Steeda Q777 are reported to be even quicker than the 350R, if true that is one huge achievement though both those cars are fitted with superchargers, the Roush is 670BHP using the Roush/Ford FRPP 2.3l roots supercharger and the Steeda has 777BHP using the Whipple/Ford FRPP 2.9 twin screw supercharger. The latter is the one I shall be fitting and trying to detune it down below 777BHP haha. :D

Karen surprised me this evening, an email at 19:40 confirming my car was loaded onto the Galvaston Highway this Saturday in Baltimore and is now on its voyage to Zebrugee. Way ahead of schedule. My car was built and finished November 18th, so its sat a few weeks waiting for gate release.

Karen informs me it will take approximately 2 weeks to get to Zebrugee at which point it clears custom checks etc. which is an unknown turn-around time, essentially 1-6 weeks. It then takes 24hr to sale to Southhampton at which point it then travels by transporter to Bristol Street Ford dealership in Stoke.

Based on this best case my car will be with me first week of January, way ahead of schedule or worse case early-mid February.

If it arrives in January I shall take it and not worry about getting the car on a 16 plate, if it arrives in February I shall try to hold out until March to have it on a 16 plate.

Seems Ford are speeding things along a little. :)


Plus more good news Levittown informed me my GT350 wheel has shipped today and the original price of $199 has being honored. :D :D :D
 
777bhp through the back wheels would have me reenacting Driving Miss Daisy on most british roads most days, I guess its all well managed and supercharger not so severe. 350R looked great in that track test video
