Forza 2 Demo - Feedback

btw apart from the jaggies which bug me a little - I think the game is GREAT - and has loads of potential.

handling reminds me of F355 on the Dreamcast :)

The resized version looks allright, solution - play at low res :p

One of the developers met with the creator of 355 personally and is a great fan of that game. He has an arcade box of it in his garage I think

thats interesting :)

I've been looking a bit more a the cars wrt AA - and yes sometimes they look great- nigh-on perfect - and yes there must be some sort of AA - but at other angles they look dreadful - very bad jaggies - almost like they've saw-toothed edges to the cars - that bad.

Mark.

Can I confirm that it's quite pointless getting the LE version now because they're making the LE cars available at some point?

Edit: Evil AI.

Its discussed in one of the old pit passes I think, 6 months from now the LE cars will be released for no charge I think.

Great vid with nice amounts of lockup and wheelspin. Does it display torque steer on a FWD?

Didn't play much yet and found it very difficult. The fact that I don't drive in real life (yet) doesn't help ether.
Definitely need to practice a lot best lap so far is 1:10 on Lamborghini and thats with the wheel and all assist on. :o :D
How rubbish is that?! The good thing is I'm really enjoying it so far, just need to practice I guess.

After playing a bit more, this game is fantastic, even with just the one track, you feel there is progression in your skill and if you manage a nice powerslide around a corner you get a great feeling. Reminds me of playing GT3 when it was released.

After playing for a while, I think the graphics are damn good actually, yes there are jaggies and the cars sometimes look like they are cut and pasted onto the track with a sort of black border but once your moving the edges of the cars blends in much better and the sense of speed is great.

Definately going to get this.

Some people say not driving helps. All assist might be whats slowing you down, it will likely cover a variety of mistakes that would otherwise be obvious ie. you'd crash :p

Ah, I was thinking exactly the same about the F355 comparison.

I dont understand the negative comments about the graphics. It looks stunning here - 42" HD plasma and no major jaggies to speak of, connected via VGA. I do think though that plasmas in general dont show jaggies as much as LCD's.

Very impressed so far, and brilliant with the steering wheel. Cant wait for the full release

Yeah there is nothing wrong with the graphics. Its the best looking racing game out anyway imo.

I think because its such an anticipated game that people look too closely.

Been playing the demo a little bit over the weekend and I must say its growing on me. Initially I was playing it on my 19" sammy TV in my room and well it was a bit meh.

Now I have it running on my 32" HDTV in the lounge and it rocks. At the correct viewing distance it looks crisp and very detailed. (up close its a bit rough).

There is definately AA running (the tracksides and other fixed objects definately have AA running on them), although the cars occasionally have a few jaggies here and there but you know what I couldn't give a rats ass!

I play the game for enjoyment not to sit and try to pick fault.

Aye, im really hoping the multiplayer implementation of Forza2 works well...

Even at the low level im currently at I get a good deal of satisfaction completing a clean lap, I can only hope we can get a good group of us playing in similar specced cars when the game goes retail and it isnt left to those who grind the single player game to get the best cars and bolt-ons.

Well a lot of us have been playing the demo quite a bit.

I agree with some other remarks made that the game definately grows on you and even for those that find fault in the graphics and pick at every little flaw this game and im sure other games have. These people are completely missing the main objective of this game.

Objective?
Thats to offer a great racing experience, imo the handling is spot on, not over hard not too easy. Any racing fan that likes a game thats a bit more challenging in its handling should not hesitate to purchase this game.

So far i'm loving it!

Only managed to have a wee play Thursday then got a few hours in yesterday, i really don't see what people are complaining about at all!

The graphics looks good, crisp, a tad of jaggying at occasions, yep...do i give a damn...not at all, if you're taking notice of jaggies you should have your attention on the road ;)

Loving the physics, the sound is great, graphics are fine by what i want to see, feels nice, responsive, love & hate (hehe) how long it can take to get through the gravel after a bad turn, and i am 1000% surprised how much damn fun the Subaru Legacy is!! Amazing fun car to get your head around the demo in!

I won't be playing the demo too much as i'd like to keep the game fresh in my mind for the release, but its looking like it'll be great and have every faith in my pre-order sticking :)

Great fun great looks, great sound, great driving engine, i'll see you all on the grid come June 8th! :D

Sometimes the AI is more challenging than others when I play the demo, other times, im up to 2nd by the first corner. Tis a bit odd.
