I'm back baby!
Spawned from the Transfer Window thread.

My opinions below:

Finishing: Fowler
Speed: Anelka
Control: Fowler
Anticipation: Fowler
Movement: Fowler
Heading: Tied, neither do it often enough
Creativity: Tied, I've noticed that Fowler isn't as greedy as he appears in his time at Leeds and creates quite a bit
Experience: Fowler - This is because although Anelka has spent time at great clubs, including Real madrid, he hardly played for them!

I think Fowler is far superior and I'd much rather have him in my side than Anelka.

I would much rather have Anelka in my side without a doubt.

i think most people will agree?

you could even argue that anelka has greater experience, having played in about 10 different countries and in far better teams than fowler? :)

i mean, you can't seriously think that fowler has better creativity and control than anelka? :) you're letting club loyalties blur your vision :)

Does it matter how many countries you've played in?

We're talking about premiership players, and Fowler is one of the best strikers to have ever played in the Prem. Anelka hasn't played anywhere near as many prem matches, and after Arsenal he's been around a bit, but has hardly played any matches for each club!

The only depertment Anelka beats Fowler in is speed. As someone just said to me, Anelka is more like on a par with Radzinski. Though I'd rather have Radzinski too...

Re: Re: Fowler Vs Anelka

Fowler is a far better striker than Anelka, Anelka is average at best, he has no vision, he cant head the ball, and simply runs out of ideas very quickly.
When he stays at a club for more than 5 minutes, and when people start talking of him as the best natural finisher in the game, then we can start comparing him to great strikers like Robbie Fowler.
Or when he scores hat tricks against Arsenal..........

Oh man deffo fowler, its close but his finishing and movement is just great, gilly how about heskey and 10 mill for fowler?:p

Both are very similar really, both started young and set the prem alight with scoring exploits, but aint really done a lot in the last few seasons, fowler at our place was the best finisher by far, him and collymore had 1 great season together

well well, this of course has no bias even though anelka walked out on us ;)

Finishing: Tied
Speed: Anelka
Control: Anelka (he can control the ball well while running fast)
Anticipation: Fowler
Movement: Fowler
Heading: Tied
Creativity: they both have none lol
Experience: Fowler

so imo they are about the same, but both are inferior to henry :p

Henry is miles better than both put together :)

Anelka for me, pace, vision & finish all better than Fowler's imo. Though I still rate Fowler as being a decent striker, I just don't think he is as good as Anelka.

Trying to keep the bias aside ;) I still think that Anelka is better than Fowler. He is faster, he has a better shot, has good technique and he has gone through some really good clubs.

He's played in France for quite a while, he's been at Arsenal, Real Madrid and Liverpool, and he's only 22, 23?

Fowler, he's been at Liverpool all his life, and the past year and a half at Leeds. Half his time at Leeds he was injured.

Anelka also seems to have matured now, once Wanchope is back they will terrorise the Premiereship.

Personally i would probably go for Anelka,

Although i believe Fowler is a better finisher, and the best natural finisher the Prem has ever seen.

The main reasons i would go for anelka is, his finishing is not that far behind fowler, but Anelka is still only 23 - 24 he has got a lot of time left in him, fowler has not.

I can't believe there are people in here who think Anelka is a better finisher than Fowler! What do you lot smoke? ;)

Both, at their very best, are lethal strikers who can murder teams on their own. Anelka's pace can be devastating but Fowler is by far the more natural finisher, can score with both feet, and has scored a decent number with his head. Would be a tough call who I'd want if both were on top form and had no issues (ie, Anelka), but Fowler would just (only just) shade it.
