Free Shipping for Loyal Forum Members

"OcUK reserves the right to choose the method of shipping, which for the purpose of Free Shipping will be DPD Next Day or Royal Mail Standard Delivery"

Why am I getting 2nd Class as the only free option? Checked my account and my forum logon is linked :(

edit: looks like a minimum order quantity applies, was under £20. might be worth a mod popping that in the terms :)

Has this deal changed? I've been using OcUK for years with free shipping, but now I'm only offered free royal mail second class? Whenever I've ordered something small in the past, it's come first class RM, anything bigger is DPD. Confused...

IIRC it's whatever makes the best financial sense.
It's almost certainly cheaper to send things that are more than a certain weight (about 2kg) or size via DPD than via say RM.

I haven't looked at RM's pricing for 2kg recently, but a few years back something that weighed 1.99kg sent via RM SD cost about £6, something that weighed about 2.01kg was nearly £20.

Not quite. My keyboard cost 39.99 and was sent DPD.

Also, I had a 19.99 case come via DPD. I don't think they made much profit on that transaction. :p

I had something in my basket for 39.95, no DPD. Add something for 1.99, add DPD.

IIRC it's whatever makes the best financial sense.

Thats cool but some clarification would be handy :)

I had the same bother with a mouse last month that was £30 something. None of the bits I ordered were particularly heavy (Mouse and microphone).

(Edit - mis read , thought you said heavier than 2kg)

There must be a rule set on the ecomm platform that.applies the shipping promo to the basket, some guidance on what triggers the DPD would be good to plan future purchases :)

Does this offer also apply to BFPO addresses for those in the armed forces serving overseas?

I never did get an answer to this.

I only ask as we've had issues in the past where some companies refused to send to BFPO simply because they didn't understand the system. When a BFPO address is entered the item is sent to one of 2 places (one in london and another somewhere in the midlands). Once it arrives at those destinations it leaves the british postal/delivery system and joines an MOD delivery system. So in essence any company delivering to a BFPO address is only really delivering to somewhere in the UK.
