Fuel up/down again

Also kind of goes against their continual bleating that they don't make much money from actual fuel sales and it's all the shop items that they make money from. If this really was the case, why would they be encouraging people not to go into the shop at all?

Hmm completely forgot about cashback :o I guess I can ditch the new scheme idea then :p

Do people still go into the shop at petrol stations? I just pay at the pump...

Not every petrol station has pay at pump.

I won't go to a petrol station that doesn't do pay at the pump (unless desperate obviously).

Asda petrol stations all have pay at the pump and there's plenty of those around.

I prefer pay at pump as I generally don't like the shops at petrol stations.
In Belgium last month, we never saw any petrol station shops open apart from on the motorway services - they were all shuttered up, they were mostly unattended pay at a touch screen kiosk in the centre of the forecourt before you fill and you entered the pump no. of the pump you were parked at.

On the contrary, diesel used to be cheaper than petrol and on the continent, diesel is cheaper than petrol. In this country, it's the both fuel users that have been ripped off!

It has nothing to do with the country, diesel is cheaper wholesale now due to increased refining capacity in the middle east. In fact, there is a lot of pressure to implement a blanket ban on diesel cars in London.
