Fuel up/down again

It has nothing to do with the country, diesel is cheaper wholesale now due to increased refining capacity in the middle east.

Long term this could be the case, however give a couple of months and the demand for heating oil starts to effect prices. ie. unl down and dv up.

The difference in the middle east is Saudi's exporting refined products like diesel now instead of just Crude. With the Thames oil port open in the future importing dv will be easier too.

My mate religiously uses V power in his Evo 5, he once put Momentum 99 in it and his AFR gauge went well out of range. No point in using super if its not super!

I was told Momentum 99 was a fine alternative to V-Power by my local garage, even though I do try to only use VP in my 350Z lack of stations meant I had to fill up with M99 recently.

And with only the slight difference between regular (114.9) and M99 (119.9) I only use it in the Mazda 6 too.

1.129 for Diesel this morning, 2p less than unleaded. This from the highs of 1.45 for me.

Fuel app shows my car is running at 0.103p per mile now. If this carries on the government will up the duty on derv.

I decided to try out the Shell quick pay system via the app.

It didn't work as promised....

1: The app takes ages to load and locate itself. Once loaded you then have to click through a few times to get to the fill up and go bit, then scan the code or enter it. You can't easily scan the QR code where the sticker is on the pump unless you stick your arm right out, or get out of the car.

2: The PayPal authorisation failed, even though initial set-up confirmed pairing.

3: The Shell app keeps GPS active in the BG when the app is closed, drains the battery.

Ultimately it's a massive fail. I will endure being asked if I want "2 chocolate for £1 today.".

V Power is still no cheaper. 126.9ppl. Momentum is 120.9 though but it's an extra 8 miles distance away... Sainsburys is closer and priced at 119.9.

No they won't as the duty per litre is exactly the same.
Oil prices always have and always will yoyo.
If anything I am slightly surprised that Diesel has dropped below petrol, considering that the petrol:diesel ratio of vehicles is currently heavily in favour of diesel.
