Fuji X Series

Got my X-S10 this week coming from my old Canon got a lot of options to get used to so abit of a learning curve.
With some added Lightroom touches :)
I appreciate I'm not familiar with your setup or workflow however Fuji raw editing really comes into its own with Capture One. I wouldn't use anything else now. But not everyone wants to shell out for it if they already have Lr etc.

I love the 35 1.4, so good. Here’s a snap on my walk yesterday, slightly missed focus because I was balancing over the canal one handed.

Crikey. It's photos like this that remind me just how awful the portrait mode is on an iPhone/computational photography. Natural bokeh is beautiful and so obvious to my eyes.

How does Capture One compare to DXO (if you've used it)?

Really liked it with my Canon gear and the noise reduction was the best I've seen but not sure how good it'll be with a Fuji.

Oh I'm afraid I can't give an answer there, have never used DXO.
I used lightroom and Photoshop when I had my canon gear but when I changed to Fuji I also wanted some software that wasn't going to require a monthly sub so I got Affinity Photo and (initially) Luminar 4. However Capture One Pro was on offer over the summer so I purchased it and it's been great.
Lightroom does have a known issue where RAF files look 'wormy' for want of a better word and Lightroom's sharpening isn't particularly good on Fujifilm I believe.

It did, and I’m awaiting the arrival of my lens before I can test it. Should arrive this week. I’ve had a brief look at the menus and upgraded the firmware. I can’t wait to try it.

Guys, need some urgent help here. Maybe a school boy error, but how on earth do you take a pic with the manual focus lens?

Fuji XT 3
Samyang 12mm

The shutter button does nothing at all? Heeeelp

Not a lot of Black Friday deals from Fuji. I was hoping the X-T4 would drop a bit. It's a bit hard to swallow paying top money for the X-T4 when on paper the A7 III is the better camera for ~£100 less at the moment :(

So looking around at all the deals, X-T30 with the 18-55 is £999 in most places excluding grey import and the X-T3 with the 18-55 is £1099 with my discount.

Has to be the X-T3 doesn’t it for an extra £100?

If you're happy with the bulk yes obviously. The main reason I have my X-T10 is the sheer tiny size of it. Most of my photography is when travelling. I was very close to upgrading to a XT3 last year but after playing with it in the shop on my lunch break I just decided that it's too big for me. It'd mean I'd carry it around less etc.

Yep that’s the grey market importer I used to buy my 35 1.4. @Barks and @philstanbridge above also used them.

My 55-200 arrived this morning. Took less than a week, BNIB, flawless condition, no issues.

Just had a quick shoot outside. It's a fantastic lens and looks hilarious on my X-T20. That said, it feels solid and even well balanced in some ways. Looking forward to playing with the photos in LR after work.

It's a super lens and when I tested mine against my Canon 70-200 f4 L IS on my 6d ii the Fuji lens was on par and that Canon was the sharpest telephoto zoom lens I'd ever owned.
You may find it gets a tad soft from 140-200mm however I find it still perfectly sharp. I think a lot of people who complain it's soft at that range are just spoiled because the 55-140 range is so darn good!

Never though of the X-T3 as bulky :D

If you're likely to go with the f2 lenses, the 30 would be in perfect proportion. The bigger lenses- 23mm f1.4, 56mm f1.2, 90mm etc and zooms might be a little front heavy.

Rather than size, I'd factor whether you want the extra physical controls or not.

It's bigger and heavier than the XT30 (series), that's all. I do love it, but for my usage was unnecessary. Per your other point, my XT10 lives with it's 35/f2 or 23/f2 on, heck the 18-55 feels weighty when I put it on :D
