Fuji X Series

What bags are you guys carrying your Fuji gear in? I'm really happy with the Crumpler Jackpack 4000 for the Canon 650D but wondering what you guys are using for the CSC?

I have a small Fuji bag if I'm just taking 1 camera with a couple of lenses, but in the main I use a Wotancraft City Explorer 006:

Fits both bodies with 23mm and 56mm attached, along with a couple of lenses in the middle (I'll generally leave the 35mm and 18-55 in there).

I'm using a canvas photo messenger bag that will hold two Fujis and three lenses. I don't know if I can mention the name since they sell some items OCUK sell? Anyway, it's £25.00 and comes with a waterproof cover. The bag has the number 7 stitched on it and is shaped like the above but a bit bigger.

I use wrist straps (footprints), I don't like neck straps and these smaller bodies feel odd on a shoulder strap. So I tend to always take a bag now, and just pop the bodies in and out.

One question, is the flash in the X-M1 designed to be moved around. I noticed it can be bent back to flash against the ceiling with surprisingly good results, but when I skimmed the manual didn't find anything about this.

I do this on the X-E1 as well, as far as I know it's not recommended by Fuji though :)

A reminder for X-T1 owners, v3.00 firmware should be available tomorrow:

I thought there were going to be changes to how the back button AF was implemented, but apparently not.

Also new firmware for X-E2 & E1 & PRO-1

For the X-E2 they have added :

"AF+MF" function
Camera Remote
New Classic Chrome Film Simulation
Interval timer shooting

Finally prompted me to upgrade from my E1, still think the remote function is limited to max 30 second exposures, which is a pity.

I was going to upgrade my X-E1 to an X-E2, but I like the out of camera pics a lot more than the X-T1 (which I assume is the same as the X-E2), so have decided to keep it :)

Fabulous, remote control at last for the X-E2!

The intervalometer is also going to be fun.

Remote control is excellent!

I know not everyone shoots JPG, but I had a little play and Classic Chrome preset is going to be great for autumnal/winter outdoor shots. Really nice feel and might tempt me away from Velvia occasionally!

I've seen some x100s going for around £560.00 and I'm so tempted.

Would really like one, I took some amazing shots on my Honeymoon last year in Canada and US using Canon D500 and a Tamron (do everything zoom) but sometimes it was a real chore carrying it about.

The Tamron is useless in low light so I never took the camera out at night round time square etc. and just know I would have had so much fun with this unit. I love taking pictures but when I am with my wife I can be a pain lugging a big camera with us everywhere. Something pocketable, super small and quick would mean I could still flex my artistic side but it not get in the way.

Any thoughts on buying a x100s second hand?

If 35mm equiv is the focal length for you, then I'd say just do it. Was considering one myself rather than stumping up similar money for the Fuji 23mm f1.4...

Just realised about the X-Pro1 deal on at the moment with 2 lenses, does anyone know where the cheapest deal for this is available. So Far Amazon have it for under £700.00

I think this will suit me better and has the potential for me to get rid of my Canon kit in the long run and just purchase a long lens for this when I get sick of shooting wide.

Took a calculated risk and just won a x100s in immaculate condition from eBay. Payed PayPal and seller is offering 14 day return so fingers crossed everything is good. Bagged it at just under £500 quid, the cheapest one I had seen was on Amazon with a small scratch on the screen for £530...so looks like I did well.

Portability and image quality are the main things I was after, after reading a few blogs on the x100 series I think it will compliment rather than replace my DSLR.

They are amazing little cameras.

I recently bought an X100T to replace my X100 (which I still have). It is a worthy upgrade as the X100 has a few annoying issues (nothing IQ related though).

I've not long come back from NYC too where it was my only camera I took. I left my D3 and expensive lenses at home......it's that good!

Enjoy it!
