Fuji X Series

Thanks. A cine lens is out of the question, so I’ll give your suggestion a try. I hadn’t considered post processing NR. That video was hitting ISO 10k and above at points, and it doesn’t look too bad (noise wise) for the intended purpose, certainly compared to the iPhone footage, but a few more stops would probably push it over the edge. I might also look at lighting.

I can recommend the Godox SL60 LED lights for a very cheap lighting solution. I bought two second hand for less than £50 each and they are great, if not a little low on power for larger setups or brighter days but for what you're doing they are likely to be perfect. Pick up a cheap softbox to go with it and you're sorted.

For a lot more cash you can pick up something like a Godox VL150 (/200/300) - still a bargain for what you're getting as they are a LOT brighter and a bit quieter when hot but I wouldn't buy these second hand as they have some potential circuit board issues meaning you'll want to be covered by a warranty.

I think I might get the Viltrox 27/1.2 next...

Been on the look out for a camera again but prices have been mad. I hovered over the X100V that LCE had in stock a few days ago but decided it's too limiting.

Ideally wanted an X-T30 in mint condition but again those are sitting around £650 which is too much considering you can get a new X-T30 II for £799.

Then I saw this pop up on Wex, pricing is very bizarre. Basically a returned X-T30 II with the 18-55. That combo retails for £1199!

Just need to decide if I keep the 18-55. I probably will since it's a great holiday walk about lens then I'll get a 1.4 prime for any other time.

The £1150 one for the X100v in silver? I saw that too, but it's so close to 2024 now, a replacement should be on the cards, a lot of people are selling them on Facebook groups and I see them popping up on MPB and LCE all the time. The prices has dropped massively buy in from MPB in the past month by like £300.

It was a black one, brand new. They must have had a small delivery because it was showing as available for next day for 24 hours.

I think they may have mispriced the one I ordered. They have a returned X-T30 II body only for the same price.

I think they did. Can't see one close to that price anywhere.

My X-S10 came with a kit lens for £799 too, I've seen it body alone for that price as well. It happens now and again, it must be someone booking it in not paying attention and picked body only price on the system.

I sat with the X-T30 II for a while, deciding on lens and remembered I basically always use one lens and never change lens out in the field. I also wanted to keep things compact and simple and that was one of the big reasons I was drawn towards the X100V. So yea, I returned the X-T30 II despite it being a good deal and have ordered a new X100V which should be here in the next week. I said it's limiting, and it is, but that is the big appeal for me. My photography is documenting my trips and family occasions.

Ha, fair enough.

I am itching to get an X100v but I think an update is due next year...if it happens.

I do normally put 1 lens on it and then leave it as that for the whole day too.

I was only going to bite if I could buy new at retail price. Spoke to someone at CVP about their stock as their website said stock due tomorrow. He said they actually have one already so I jumped. Black too which is my preferred choice, the silver finish marks too easy.

If Fuji release an updated one next year it will most certainly be more expensive.

I'm going through exactly this thought process. I dearly love my X-T3 with a 12/23/35/occasional 50mm combo, but the simple fact is that it's never used. I hate to say it but my smartphone (old Huawei P30 Pro) just does everything well enough that I can't be bothered to pack the Fuji. It'll pain me to do it but I really need to ditch it all and get an X100V as I'm more likely to leave it sitting in my bag. I can't seem to find stock though- Is it still unobtanium, or is stock trickling in?

Edit: @LiE that answers my question then :D

There is no point getting a used one, they all are selling at RRP anyway. I got the original in black too, it's a lovely little thing externally, internally it is very dated.
