I’ve been dithering between getting an X-T5 or sticking with the X100V. I really like the simplicity of the X100V, but, it is constrained as an only camera. I usually only use 1 lens at a time but I’d didn’t like that I couldn’t use another lens if I wanted to.

So while I still can I’ll be returning the X100V for a refund and going with the proper camera option. It’s bigger, but ultimately when I take a camera out with me, I’m taking a camera, in a bag, either way.

I was tempted to grab another used 33 1.4 but I found a mint 23 1.4 WR for 599. I’ve been really enjoying the 23mm on the X100V for documentary photography. The 23 WR is supposedly very very good, one of the sharpest.

Hopefully they arrive before Easter.

I prefer keeping things simple. It’s also not my main hobby so can’t justify having that much money invested.

Direct with Very. You buy on BNPL12 and they credit 10% to your account. You then settle the balance before 12 months. Topcashback are 2% for existing customers.

Had a little play with the 23 1.4 WR on the X-T5 in the garden. Lots of cropping action with some of these.

Did a quick 30 minute walk round a small lake here to test out the X-T5/23.

So my conclusion is that the photos I’ve taken with the X-T5 and 23mm 1.4 aren’t appreciably better than my X100V for the type of photos I take and for the increase in size/weight.

What about the 23mm? And didn’t you have an 18 as well a while back?
