Fuji X Series

Good shout! Ethan let us know if it works...

I'm considering the X-T2 Graphite now, it looks so dam sexy

It looks a work of art. I just bought the f2 35mm to use on my "knock-about" XE2 in Silver to match when I dont have my main gear on me. Lucky for me I kept the silver XC 50 -230 to compliment it which will give me that extra reach. Everything goes in this for discretion:

I just noticed the above doesnt have the inserts but you can purchase them seperate.

Oh Zaf, some of my noisy shots are on the Buton Sparkles Facebook site/page. That will teach me not to take a flash with me. (PaulFoster)

Haha I didn't even know Buxton did this, what was with the pirates?

p.s I'm laughing at myself for the lack of local knowledge, not your photos!

I was looking for something similar, for when I went to Edinburgh, ended up with a Vanguard Vojo from Wex for £30 in the end but, doesn't fit my Mac Book in which yours does.... tempted!

I think they change the theme every year. The kids loved it, especially the boat battle in the park and the Johnny Depp Impersonator was extremely good. I turned up by chance but will be going again next December (taking the I60A with me).

Does anyone have any decent links to ISO tests on the X-T10? Curious as to what I can get away with inside/evenings with my 35/f2. Only used to my old D50 with which 800 was barely usable! Cheers.

Id be interested to see this too. I googled it a while ago but my knowledge was a lot less than what it is now so may have missed it. Will have a look tonight after work if nobody has posted anything.

The XT10 uses the same sensor as the XE2 and XT1 so you could see if you have more luck looking online for examples of those in low light. I'll have a look to see if Ive any decent examples in lowlight

Here is an example at ISO 3200.

Dont judge the landscape photos for anything apart from ISO. at some point I dropped my kit lens which had negative effects on image quality. I'm sure you'll find enough examples online if you look for XT1 tests
- Added another photo with my 27mm 2.8. Not very exciting but might give you some idea.

Thanks. I'm no pixel peeper but those at 3200 look perfectly usable to me. Trying to remember what my top-end "auto iso" range was set to.

I'll try to find more examples from the XT1, good shout.

EDIT: How is it that Dropbox supports .raf but I can't get Lightroom too?

The non landscape photo is actually at 1600 and not 3200. I did include the jpgs as well. My dropbox isnt showing the RAF's for me :P
What version of lightroom are you on?

I can't actually remember. I'm flying tomorrow, might not have time to check. I think I must have been viewing the jpegs.. woops :o

Ethan can you post up some pics of the bag please, would like to see the look of it in 'real world' before purchasing.. looking at getting it as a new laptop bag.

I'm away for 6 days at the moment Zaf with limited internet. The photographs to this link are pretty accurate : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Y-DOUBLE-W...108&sr=8-1&keywords=photography+messenger+bag

I usually throw my XE2 in to it with a couple of lenses and a Samsung S2 Tab for street photography work. Aesthetically the bag is "non-descript" insofar it is unlikely to attract attention. There are two magnetic clasps on the side and it contains a zip at the top under the flap to keep your contents secure. For more engaging work I'll use the Vanguard Uprise 38 and my Flipside Pro.

No worries Ethan thank you for getting back to me, for £30 it seems worth the punt, I'm only looking at using it as a shoulder bag for my 13" mac book pro.

How big's the laptop?

Would recommend the Tenba DNA range, some of the best featured, most well thought out bags I've seen. The buckles and directional velcro are excellent features. Get a size bigger than you think you need though.

I've also backed this though, looks interesting, hope it meets it's target:

Here's a full size 6400 ISO shot. The Fuji sensor is marvellous at higher ISOs. The noise you get isn't like the noise I used to have with my Canon 7D. It's actually quite pleasant looking. There's also zero colour noise, unlike my 7D which it used to suffer horribly with.

After a bit of advice. I currently own two cameras a Fuji x100s and a Canon 550D. I love the x100s and have been thinking about replacing the 550D with another Fuji solution, possibly an X-t10 as they are due a price drop soon.

However looking at the cost of the zoom lenses for the X system cameras I'm wondering if it is the right thing to do. My 550D is fitted with a Tamron 18-250 lens and this just stays on the camera all the time. The lens is fine in good light which is where it gets used when abroad and I have to say I do a fair few zoom shots.

Having such a large range of zoom means you can frame and compose pretty much anything from a landscape to someone paragliding on that landscape which I love. This lens has been my all round solution for holidaying over the last 10 years. However the weight of the camera with this lens and the fact it is front heavy is a real pain to carry in the mountains.

Anyone been in a similar position? Does anyone own an x100 variant and another x system camera for zoom? Is 135mm going to be enough? Should I just keep the Canon?

The X-T10 is now end-of-life and has been replaced by the X-T20, because of this they are NOT due a price drop and you will need to look secondhand.

Have you thought about selling both the X100s and 550D, and getting a secondhand X-T1 and a superzoom compact for the extra reach when needed?
