how is it that they get stung, I've never used Purevideo and I never intend to, I don't care much about sli (even tho it's being fixed before the cards being released) and HDCP being borked (even if that's true) is'nt going to effect no one, I just want this G80 to run my games fast, nothing else.

Whats the joke ? :confused: and who's buying this card for DX10, I'm certainly not, I'm getting sick to the teeth about all this DX10 talk :mad: , this card will kill anything curruntly avaliable in DX9 also AND ?

Complete?! As in, now I can't choose and I have to use the new one, which although looks nice is no where near as functional as the old CP.

Now that I am not happy about. :mad:

both comanies are know for releasing unfinished or borked hardware promising something that it just cant do , i got a 6800gt because of the hardware encoding and decoding , to find after i bought the 6800 gt (on day of releae) that the bloody card cant do it!
Nvidia is worse than ati ......at certain things , ati are worse on others!

  • I must admit that is a little annoying, surely there will be hacked versions of the drivers that will allow you to use the old CP, do you think ?

it is a shame you have to use hacked drivers at all though isnt it :eek:
 
its all about moving on guys , or so the graphics card companies would have you believe ,
dont know why they changed the first CP there was nothing wrong with it , but the new one looks very pretty , nice nvidia logo spinning with jaggies till you up the aa !

I hope the above performance of the G80 is realistic, as I have two GX2's that will be getting the shove off to EVGA and replaced with two G80's :p
and I don't even care about DX10, and especially not Vista. :)

I hope they charge no more than £400 for the G80 as then EVGA would have to pay me to upgrade :D :p
Hopefully the prices will be good by mid December when my step-up is due.

I wouldn't count on it, lol.

Check out my thread about the leaked Asus packaging and card pictures, the same source says that the 8800GTX will be selling for $540 FOB and someone else in the thread pointed out that FOB is tallied up long before MSRP.

If you take into account that this is dollars and that we in this country usually get ripped off on prices even before tax, you're not looking at a cheap graphics card.

Information overload here.

Is it really worth getting excited about this card? better revisions are bound to come out soon after!

I could have kicked myself for jumping in feet first and not making the most of some of my previous hardware, especially graphic cards.

I think they'd put more effort into the cooler tbh. This is the first DX10 card ever to be released, I'm pretty sure it'll look more enticing than that.
