Indeed, I have Just Cause 3, Fallout 4 etc. But the ability to start up Rocket League and be playing a match in about 30 seconds is just awesome. Perfect bitesize gaming.

I'm going to say the witcher 3.
I didn't enjoy the first two but stupidly bought into the hype for the third one spending £50 on the game and the season pass.
It surprised me on how much fun I had with it. I loved the story the combat the world everything. Then music was amazing as well and really creepy at times.
I would have said GTA V too but since I already called it my game of 2013 then it doesn't really count

Same for me really, I cant think of anything which has stood out this year as game of the year quality.
Last year, I selected Alien Isolation as my game of the year but this year I'm hard pushed to think of anything I've played which has succeeded in all aspects of a game. I can think of some that have had great graphics, some that have had great atmosphere, some that have had great audio, some that have have good storytelling but none that have encompassed all aspects.

Dirt Rally was a nice surprise this year, and I'm loving it as well.

Mad Max for me as Fallout 4 is an absolute joke for a AAA rated game.

Nothing deserves it except CD Projeckt Red. Sublime dlc model and the way they released the game by not rushing it out the door.
Fallout 4 must have been polished to **** for people to think it deserves GOTY because from the reviews I read it wasn't. Hype of the year award goes to Fallout 4 and suprise of the year goes to Techland's Dying Light.

Fallout 4, made people upgrade their ageing 1gb cards, but witcher 3 didnt.
I mean think about that, witcher 3 ran fine and looked fine with 1gb memory
But i think fallout 4 pushed for more vram and i think thats a good thing

Been a pants year to be honest, a lot of stuff I just found boring after 10 hours. I want an epic scale FPS or a survival game that actually delivers what DayZ, H1Z1, Hurtworld, Ark, and another 100 titles have been trying to find.
