Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon

The combination of the writers' strike and the actors' strike has delayed a lot of stuff.
The strike had zero impact according to variety

House of the Dragon” Season 2 began filming at Warner Bros.’ Leavesden Studios April 11. Filming was unaffected by the Writers Guild of America strike (which began May 2 and lasted until Sept. 27) and the SAG-AFTRA strike (which began July 14) because scripts were completed before filming began. That meant writers were not working on “House of the Dragon” during the strike — although showrunner Ryan Condal remained on set in a producing-only capacity. Additionally, and the production’s actors are under contract with UK guild Equity, not SAG-AFTRA.

On this one, in particular, sure. But you commented on a lot of stuff getting delayed. The reason a lot of stuff seems delayed is a knock on from the strikes.
Just more noticeable with the TV shows I watch. This, the boys (18 odd months between 3 and 4) invincible, (2 years and then they split that in half ) Peacemaker, which they havent even started and probably won't for another year. I'm sure theres more. I miss the days when there was a year wait between seasons of TV shows that were enjoyable.

Yes you are right time between seasons should be 12 months no longer.

The move to on-demand services I guess. No schedule blocks that must be filled so less urgency.

edit: also they know a lot of people won't bother themselves to cancel a sub even though the only show they care about won't be on for another 18 months. But when that show finishes, they're off.

I really didn't want to watch this as I hated with a passion, what they did to GoT in Season 8, but I ended up watching it all in a couple of days as there was nothing else on.

Have to say, it was really good and like the original, managed to make me genuinely despise characters on the show.

I really hope the Hightower's get absolutely destroyed this season, hate them all. But if it's anything like the original show, it will get dragged out for 8 seasons and finish miserably

It's supposably going to run for 4 seasons but we'll see.

Fantastic!! Has their budget been increased? Armour and costumes all look better and more money on CGI!!

The overall presentation, CGI, costumes, and everything visual in HOD S1 was already much better than ROP S1, on a fraction of the budget.
