Because you died? A bit extremeWas just mopping up a bounty on days gone. Big firefight etc loads of enemies to kill...get snuck up on by a wolf and killed. Yep that’s me out. Not firing it up again.

It just felt cheap. The camp I was in was closed off by wire fence the whole way around, and I was in the corner. So how a wolf got to I don’t know.Because you died? A bit extreme
Just finished God of War (I know, late to the party, but free with PS Collection). Loved it, though I thought the end came very quickly and unexpectedly; I expected the land of giants to be another realm to explore, not just the ashes stuff, and I thought the "unlockable cos Odin mean" realms would be at some point.
I always thought I didn't like SP games - I play a LOT of MP games, predominantly - but the PS5 and more time at home/inside has made me change that. However I've realised what I do enjoy is semi-open world SP games, like GoW or GTA etc. I've just started Last Of Us and yeah... not hooked. Far too linear and already getting annoyed with the NPC getting in my way.
So can anyone recommend any other similar SP but semi open world games? I'm hovering over the buy button for either Spider Man: Miles Morales or Demon's Souls as well but if there's any in the PS Collection (Uncharted? Fallout? Blood Borne?) then I may as well give them a go first.
I highly recommend Horizon Zero Dawn.
Jedi Fallen Order and Dark Souls might be your kind of games too.
Edit: I missed that they must be in the PS collection.

Think I was a bit quick to dismiss the game completely over one cheap death got back into it today, got a much better arsenal at my disposal now, and my bike much farther upgraded. It just felt cheap. got mobbed by hundreds of infected earlier which was great. Sort of just mooching around looting stuff when I can hear this rumbling in the distance, turned round holy ****, I didn’t stand a chance.
It really was a fantastic “lol” moment, even though I didn’t stand a chance. Game starts off a little slow, but I’ve got to the third camp now and I can’t put it down. It's always kind of been just on my radar. That last sentence you said just got me rather interested
I've seen some footage of a sawmill and yeah there's hundreds of them. Pretty intense at times. It really was a fantastic “lol” moment, even though I didn’t stand a chance. Game starts off a little slow, but I’ve got to the third camp now and I can’t put it down.
Currently playing it at the moment, though in pc with mods and then I just use an xbox controller and I've moved my pc into the lounge temporarily to feel more comfortable and relaxed.Nope!
Skyrim can be like that. You can spend days just exploring. I always try and stick to the main story and do some side quests but yeah there are a ton of 'ooh what's in that cave over there!' moments. But yes there is a story and an ending. How open world are we talking? ie Does it still have a main storyline and ending?
The thing I really liked about God of War is that all the exploring and side quests were to benefit the main storyline (from Kratos's mouth himself). Conversely, I lost myself on RDR2 a bit. I absolutely loved it, but I found myself too often wandering off and hunting or collecting plants which served no real purpose or gave any advantage to the main story. As a result I never actually completed the main story as I felt like I'd just had enough of playing it generally.
On reflection I think you should try subnautica. How open world are we talking? ie Does it still have a main storyline and ending?

I've got to stop playing Warzone.
What can I move onto ?
