Games you're playing, and games...

Recently finished Immortals. Really enjoyed it.

Back playing Sea of Thieves on my Series X. It looks insanely good on an OLED and the 60fps uplift is great. There is so much to do in this game it's a ridiculous fun time sink. After such a rocky start, this has to be one of my favourite games of recent times.

Still playing Warzone and am on my first playthrough of God of War on PS5. Once I'm finished with GoW I'll move onto Ghost of Tsushima

Indeed. As a coop game it's been really rather brilliant. Have put many many hours into it.

I could fault it and say one issue is that it needs something to do once you have level 50 on all, you've really done every mission and everything possible, as there isn't really much variety in terms of the end. It's always find gold, skull, etc then bring here.

These "story" missions definitely help add the type of content I'm after and hope they continue with these, it's just a bit too small of content when they do bring it out to bring me back in as you can have 1 session, complete the new stuff and you've done it all again.

Id like to see new areas that are really different in terms of weather. Like 1 area that's entirely heavy storm, that is ridiculously hard to get through with skelly ship after skelly ship. No man's sea sort of area.

Another thars super foggy all the time, like can't see anything unless you're right next to it, and again scripted fights here would be epic if you can't see anything until its on too of you.

Yeah, sounds more like a job, and not a computer game!

Haha, not far off. I want to explore and progress but I was hoping that as vehicles and road construction unlocked the pace would start to pick up, but instead it's still plodding along. I'm getting some serious MGS5 vibes from this game in terms of systems being to fiddly, too much to micro-manage and a large, detailed open world which feels completely empty and lifeless. Granted, I appreciate that last part is entirely the point in Death Stranding, but if you're going to have an open world that isn't populated, there needs to be something else to take its place. Something more than just boxes, anyway.

Finally finished Valhalla after a bit of a break. Did some raiding and side quests to get my level up to around 270 then I went back to the last fight (PL 340) and managed to do it. 78 hours had a lot of fun but I still prefer Origins overall for the better story.

Onto Fallen Order!

I cant decide what to play next so just trying to Platinum Immortals Fenyx Rising, only a few trophies left! Such an addictive game

Doesn't seem many decent games are being released soon on PS, so might have to dive back in see what games I have missed or replay some

@Plainsong has Fallen Order got a PS5 update? Loved that game when it was released

Yes it has! Just this week Respawn released a patch out of the blue and it's a big improvement.

Wow. Just fired up Resident Evil 7 after downloading on the PS collection for PS5. I finished it back when it first came out so about 4 years ago nearly but it really stands up. The graphics, sound, atmosphere are all top notch and the first hour was really intense. Had to share as was really surprised at how good it was. Whether I go onto replay it again I’m not sure but it’s worth it just for the first hour experience. The Pulse headset sounded great too.

I keep having to stop playing as it makes me feel really anxious...

I’m loving Quantum Break and even though I wasn’t enamoured with having a TV show in the middle of it, it works out really well. The Xbox One S version is very respectable so I can only imagine how good it must look on Xbox Series X. It doesn’t even feel like 30fps to me.

Bought the kids Switches for Christmas and soon found that you get a free SNES emulator with the online pass, with a selection of some of the best games on the system

So I've Ignored BOTW, Pokemon Shield, Mario Kart etc and have been re-playing Super Metroid. Think I last played it properly as a student about 20 years ago via emulator, and before that as a 12 year old on my SNES.

It's brilliant, still. though I do sometimes question whether it's a bit naughty with how it hides progress sometimes (particularly thinking of the hidden Super-Missile wall to find Kraid - though I remembered it on this run through from my frustrations as a 12-year old). I'm close to finishing, just needing to make my way to Ridley and then on down to Mother Brain.

Got the Platinum trophy on Immortals Fenyx, what a great game. Also downloaded and played The Gardens Between this afternoon, another gem, fully recommend playing it - great short puzzle adventure :)

Gonna look at maybe another play through of Star Wars: Fallen Order on the PS5 tonight

Do you really think it was that good?

I liked it and did about 95 percent of the things to get, and as fun as it was, i don't see a single way it can have any reply value given it already makes you replay the maps many times over.

Yeah it was great the first time I played it, loved it - There is a PS5 upgrade and fancied another look to see the improvements, and it does look and play really, nice much better than I remember, smooth as butter!

Let me know if it opens up more. Spent a while doing the intro section, to find the second section very samey. I liked that the city felt like almost the size of a small city, but I wanted more open mess so gave up.

Still in the starting city doing side quests before I set sail. Will definitely let you know how you find it once in the new area.
