Games you're playing, and games...

Playing Halo for the first time ever, only about 2hrs and got a slight headache and motion sickness…after the warthog. Got the same thing driving in battlefront. Weirdly I don’t when I play driving games, I think it’s the free view aspect of it, you can go a different direction to the way you are looking at.

Do you wear glasses with a strong correction? The FOV/warping at the peripheral can cause issues with people with strong corrections.

yes I guess, never thought of it as I’ve avoided FPS games on consoles forever. The FPS sections I’m fine but a 15 min driving makes me slightly sick.

Great game. However play with friends. Lone playing can have its moments, but it really is a great game with 1/2 more people.

4 man ships are a different game as I found almost gets too busy and as much as I love captain a 4 man ship, 2 or 3 man is undeniably so much easier.

Make sure it's a friend in chat rather than a random person, as team work is super important.

I play with my 2 brothers. 1 loves fixing, I love sailing, the other loves shooting. When you have all 3 working perfectly together, and a great leader like me, it's one of the best games you can play imo

Indeed. It’s tough on your own. Was exploring an island when another ship appeared and blew mine up. Not a huge fan of PvP, so onto the next. Could imagine it being fun with friends.

Enjoying grounded and Ori.

You can just disconnect from the network to play without any others. It's a really tedious game if you aren't playing with friends though.

I'm loving State Of Decay 2 at the moment, its been a while since I've played a game and enjoyed it this much. One of my characters died and I was genuinely gutted! I've not played anything else for a couple of weeks now I cant enough of it.

I love SoD too - it's really underrated. It's not the most polished of games (fair few bugs around) but still, I've sunk hours and hours into it, completed my first lethal campaign too the other day.

Can't wait for #3!

What's a Lethal campaign?

There's a 3 coming!? Nice.

One thing I noticed is the game is split into two campaigns and the first one finished to early I did the final mission it came up with a warning saying it was the final mission and then the credits came up and i just felt like it was all over to soon.

Thankfully there is another campaign so I started that one, not sure if you can back into the first one yet I didn't try that

There does seem to be a fair few FPS drops too even though it's supposed to be optimised for Series X

There was a reveal trailer released a year or so ago, it's on YouTube. Features a lot of snow and animals so speculation is rife about what this might mean for the series going forward. Dynamic weather has been a feature that's been requested but Undead aren't able to implement it in SoD 2.

When you start a new community, you'll have the option to select a difficulty. Green is easy and Lethal is the hardest - Dread and Nightmare sit in between. Lethal is a challenge, blood plague is more aggressive, enemies do more damage and every special infected has blood plague - Ferals are no longer one hit kills making them a pain.

Heartland is a story-driven campaign which you might be playing but the 'normal' campaigns are based on survivors and clearing plague hearts. One you've killed them all, you can progress the legacy missions which is where you'll hit the FINAL MISSION warning, after completion that group's story is over. You can then choose to keep the survivors or start a new campaign. There are four leader types too, each of the types will unlock a new boon for use in the next campaign. I.e. you might complete the first with a sheriff and then the second with a builder - you'll then be able to use their respective boons (max of 2 at once) on the next campaign. You can only used the boons on the same difficulty or lower, so you couldn't complete on Green and use on Lethal but you could do it the other way around (not that you'd want to).

Lastly, frame drops are there for sure, even on PC. I alternate between both XSX and PC and the drops are inexplicable at times. That being said, Undead are a small studio and have only recently been acquired by MS, this means with any luck SoD 3 should be MUCH improved.

Lethal is basically just cheap difficulty. Bloaters that literally spawn out of nowhere and the likes, if one bursts next to you forget about it. Not fun imo.

Still a great game that I've ploughed hundreds of hours into. Also looking forward to 3!

I also jumped back in recently after a year out. The driving physics are still abysmal, and the repair bug still exists where your vehicle just spontaneously flies off in all directions hitting everything until it blows up.

IE:

Thanks @Fry750 for a small studio there is a lot gone into it, always has you thinking about what needs doing and planning what to do next

Good to know I can back to the first map but I'll finish this group on the second map first if I understand correctly!

Wreckfest is great, great mix of racing, demolition derby. Nice progression system, easy to pick up and play.

The race where you drive a Morris 3 Wheeler vs a dozen school buses was funny as heck, getting sandwich between 2 or against a wall! SPLAT!

If you want to keep your community but try a different map you can research new territories at your command post @Relentless81. Always good if you want to keep your community members but try a different area.

I thought there were just two maps? This is the bit that confuses me about this game. On the main menu (I forget their names) there are two main campaigns and each one is on a different map and from what Fry750 said once you complete a community you can go back to that map with a different community but are you saying there are more than two maps?

Started Sniper Elite 4 last night. It's not too bad, although coming from AC Valhalla it feels so limited in where you can go on the map!

Also even on Normal mode, it seems to take about 10 bullets to kill someone even if it looks like you've made a head shot from close range.

It's a really good game. I like the maps, they are on par with Hitman in terms of detail - going into houses and seeing them all furnished with great textures, etc. Not sure about the bullet remark though. Your rifle can easily headshot in one. Or are you going round shooting people with the assault rifle?

Oh yeah, if i rifle them then it's easy enough for a headshot. I just wanted to test out the other weapons at close range :p

There are 5 maps total IIRC (4 normal mode, 1 for Heartland).

There are two ways to play the game, normal and Heartland. Heartland is more story driven and 'normal' is more base building, community building, establishing legacies etc.

Heartland has a single map.

Normal has 4 maps where you can swap between them as you like, rather than completing a 'legacy' (IE finishing the game). If you start a normal game you have the choice of which map (of the 4) to play on.

I don't think you can play the Heartland map in normal mode yet, but given I haven't started a new community for a while that may have changed.
