Gang of boys who threw flour at disabled woman 'put under police protection for their safety'

He's not trying to argue they aren't guilty, he's just pointing out hypocrisy vs another thread where people are arguing innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Except its not hypocrisy.

Innocent until proven guilty for somone cleared of a crime is no way comparable to pointing to the selfie a criminal took while commuting a crime with thier face in full view and going "yes they're a criminal"

Do you think justice will be served by the criminal justice system on this one? Do you think any punishment that will be dished out will be effective and proportional to the crime and the terror that woman felt?

I don't.

THIS.

The little darlings won't even get young offenders for this. They'll be let off with the 'namby pamby' softly softly approach because "we are better people" and should show them how to behave. Well showing kids how to behave starts with their parents.. guarantee 99.9% the parents are proper ****wombles who wouldn't raise their hand to a fly let alone their little Jaydon-Mckenzie-Gucci-Armani child.

From my experience, not all crap parents are "namby-pamby". There are plenty of apparently "hard line" parents who, while never shy in pointing out the shortfalls of others, are totally unable to accept their talented youngster could possibly be capable of serious wrondoing.

"It's a prank that got out of hand. He's just misunderstood."

My first comment might had been a little extreme, but I agree with other posters, these kids are really not going to be punished that hard in the long run. If any had any ideas about joining the Military or Police or some other service, they might be barred for many years or banned all together but I feel that's the worst thing that will happen.

I do feel we need stronger punishments and they gotta be mentally and physically challenging, it's gotta be something that will have a huge effect on their lives that will make them think, am not doing this again and to behave in future.

Wow that really infuriates me that:mad: poor innocent woman just sat minding her own business sat on a bench. If she’s disabled that could really knock her confidence to go outside by herself again they don’t realise what a knock on affect it has on people’s lives.
Is the one with the handbag throwing up a gang sign there aswell  real gangster controlling the streets there. I bet they think they are the local neighbourhood tough guys because they smoke a little weed and pick on defenceless people.
If they want to live that life then they should have to deal with the consequences. If most of them have been traced then they shoukd have all there windows smashed on a weekly basis until the message gets through to them.

That would be the parents windows - the kids don't own the house...

Dunno, but if this is the kind of thing your son gets up to you’re not really a model parent, are you? It’s not much of a stretch to assume they’re all trash.

Yes but if there actions have consequences then they will soon stop doing it. There all stood there like tough guys in there group photo do you think they would come out of there house if people were standing outside throwing things etc? They would be cowering behind mummy and daddy.

Well I know my sister isn't trash, but her son is out of control and she knows it to the point that she's trying to get him in to social housing.

I wouldn't want people smashing her windows up for something that her son did...

Ask yourself, why is he out of control? It may well not be her fault directly. One point I've raised on here is the worst kids I know are those who were farmed out to grandparents or other relatives to look after because their parents were too busy for them. Other relatives are loathe to discipline at all because they're not their kid.

This is why kids need to be taught respect the good old fashioned way, with a bloody good hiding. Kids don't know about consequences nowadays (because there are virtually none) so this is the kind of thing they do. When I was a kid I'd have been battered for doing something like this.
my blood runs cold just thinking what my auld fella would have done to me had i done something like this as a teen!!

see below.
I'm glad to see that the parent of one of the lads marched his son to the police station and grounded him indefinitely

I'm not saying she's mother of the year, but nor is she trash.

As with anything there are many reasons. Father abandoned them, wrong crowd at school, started doing cocaine at 14 etc.

Her other slightly younger son is doing well, so nature vs nurture and all that.

ridiculous that the photo is blurred to hide their identity when they likely published it on the internet in the first place.

if my kid did this he's joining the army or getting kicked out and cut out of the family
