Gang of boys who threw flour at disabled woman 'put under police protection for their safety'

Amazing how heated people get. Hardly crime of the century.

It's just weird how much frothing at the mouth there is about some kids taking things too far.

Cheering that someone's been stabbed.... I mean, that's just mental.

Have you seen the Sun headline? "THE POLICE ARE PROTECTING THE YOBS!"

Playing the crowd like fiddles, as usual. :)

You don't torment a person like this out of the blue.

Where did you grow up? Round my way kids would torment old/disabled people all of the time, kicking a football off the house end wall when they knew the person couldn't get up or it would be a struggle for them to do so, egging houses, throwing piles and piles of cut grass over the wall into their yard etc etc.

What these lads have done is despicable but one of them being stabbed in return is just ridiculous, you mention if your nan was a victim of this but lets say on the other hand you had a kid who got caught up in this/wrong crowd, would you be perfectly fine with someone stabbing him/her as some form of justice?

Good point, I hadn't looked at it this way. I would've hopefully noticed some other signs before it came to this though.

If this happened to your mother or grandmother, would you be saying this?

"taking it too far"... Yeah okay.... LOL

It was cruelty and humiliation of the weak simply for the sake of it. It’s not like they were even trying to gain financially from it like a theft

You'd like to think so but there's plenty of kids who've been brought up perfectly well who've still done some stupid things, myself included, granted I was a bit younger than the lads in this scenario.

It's absolutely shocking really.

Most of these types of scrotes actually do love their nana's. So someone should ask them how would they feel if someone cornered their nana and pelted her with flour and severely frightened her, as that's basically what they've just done to someone else's nana.

So one of them has been stabbed.

Everyone who was on about vigilante justice, is that what you were hoping for?

Not going to complain about it myself mate, but I won't cheer about it.

But this is the definition of Krama which am a great believer in, do upon others as you would have them do unto you.

They reaped what they sow in the end, if you going to act like little "angels" then someone bigger is going to come along and show you the error of your ways!

Maybe getting stabbed will be a very big life lesson he learns and correct him for the future.

Most teenagers have the potential to do very stupid things but often through stupidity and not through malice.

Before we sentence these kids to death, do we know if they have form for this kind of thing? (Not "kids from their area" or "kids of their age", but those specific kids.)

Karma is nonsense, there's millions of people who are excellent to one another and have a miserable existence/nothing to show for it and vice versa with pond life who have everything fall at their feet.

What else should he have done?

Respect for doing it after the fact, but I would have taught my child that throwing eggs and flour at old disabled people is not a good use of their time - not specifically. Yes kids can be idiots, even more so in a group, but this is beyond stupid - I'm speechless that we have kids running around that think this is a laugh. Not only did they do it, they took pictures and then, to cap it all, posted it on the 'net.. I'm Gobsmacked.

It all starts with the parenting! We are having 5 year olds going to school not potty trained, not even able to communicate enough to be able to teach in a class setting - It's truely worrying where this is going.. Think about it, 5 years old in nappies not able to speak properly - get your arses off of social media and look after your children.

This bunch of little charmers were only really a couple of sticks and maybe the odd brick away from a murder charge.

Reminds me of this case...

At least they do things proper in the US and the gang that actually beat their victim to death, just for a laugh, and then also bragged about it, will be unlikely to ever see the outside of a prison cell ever again...

What a waste of police resources giving these ***** protection. If this scum is big enough and hard enough to carry out such an attack then they're big enough and hard enough to face the consequences of their actions.

Can understand the police feeling these kids need protection, because whats happened now is instead of the issue being dealt with there and then via immediate discipline, grounding and horrible chores; we have a pent up public anger that will now be released in even more extreme ways.

There will be some local kids who in everyday life are just as bad as these ones, but who will jump on the opportunity to use this to be agressive/fight/stab these kids whilst pretending they are acting the heroes.

70 years ago something like this would have meant the police giving you a mild beating, your parents too and the local community making your life pretty horrible for a few weeks. But that, along with a more strict level of discipline overall, would have done it. There really is no need for these kids to be criminally charged if it was promptly and properly dealt with locally.

Too late now though. Media circus.

.

I have always lived by this maxim ("do unto others as you would have them do unto you") but in all honesty, it doesn't really work like that these days when at least 25% of society are complete douche bags.

It's turned into living by the idea of, "at least I'm not a ****". Rhymes with punt btw.
