Garden room / posh shed /workshop build log

I wanted multicolour to keep the kids entertained but didn't want to pay Hue money. Ended up with GU10 Govee. They're on timer and work fine.

Interior I went Hue ambient so I can change the colour temp. Usually hate spotlights tbh
Ah cool I meant the actual chrome/stainless light fitting and what size bore for it if you get me

Fitted more cladding today, it's slow going!

Looks good mate. You have plans for the inside beyond storage? No designer workshop plans?
Nothing other than organise it a bit better.... I am getting power to it so maybe I will insulate and board it also at some point but might just do that in a couple years.

I will insulate behind where the electrical income is coming in and bought some 50mm PIR for that.

I will also have some decking up to the shed and I'll be doing that sooner than finishing the internals

Damn this took a while. I'm one board short too :(, I will order another.

The tree will be shaped up a bit in March! There will eventually be some decking in front of the door. In thinking about an oak type composite.

You can see the cill detail I was talking about here @dlockers this was the worst one where you can see it slightly protruding on the left but rest are covered.

Sorry to hijack your thread a little Buffman. But I’m at the last knockings of my own, insulation all in and first fix electrics done, now I need to clad the internal walls with something… and tbh I’ve pretty much run out of money for this.

Original plan was to use birch ply, but at £90 a sheet nowadays it’d be £1000 plus to do. I don’t really fancy dry lining and having to fill & paint, then mess about with plasterboard fixings whenever I want to fix anything to the walls.

So I’ve settled on OSB smartply. I quite like the finish (wife doesn’t but it’s not her shed), and it should be less than £200 to do the lot.

Question though: is 11mm enough or should I go for 15mm instead?

Never heard of it tbh. Can you not just plasterboard it and get it skimmed later if price is an issue?

Think it’s just a generic name for grade 3 OSB. Honestly, I really cba with plasterboarding. Have done it enough and don’t really like the bare finish. And I’d rather have timber than drywall for hanging stuff with ease.

If you checkout the Oakwood Group on Facebook, some folk have done some really nice ply/clad finishes. You can play with the shadows to create depth, too. Looks really nice.
