This is my christmas present -

The guitarist in my band used to have one of these, and we got some brilliant sounds out of it. I think Bill Bailey uses one too, great bits of kit!

It's taking a bit of getting used to because you have to play so clean.
I'm running through stuff like Deep Purple and to get an accurate chord sound I have to do inversions.
Now it's hard enough screaming some of these songs while playing 5ths but concentrating on chord inversions as well is going to mentally take it out of me.
It'll be worth it though.

:D I have a TD6-KX with an extra Crash.

I'd gone up through the Roland Versions over the years - Started in 2006 with a TD3 with an extra crash, then upgraded everything to all mesh with a TD6 module, then swapped modules to a TD12 and upgraded the Pads from Roland to Jobeky and added lots more cymbals. Considering another upgrade now for a 13" or 18" Bass (Jobeky is 20mins away from me luckily so I can have a play) and proper high hat setup (using standard CY12 at the moment).

Got my PGM 500

It's 100% Mint.

Traded it for my RG550XX + £220. Always loved my RG but couldn't be bothered with the bridge.

I just changed the strings and cleaned the fretboard!

F'nar, I think the PGM 500 looks rubbish compared to the 301. Why would you get two guitars that are so similar, especially when you have a custom fireman on the way?

Different pickups

Different fretboard wood (rosewood)

Different colour scheme

I love my PGM301 but can now keep it in its case more = less chance of it getting knocked.

That would be about all :)

+ I love the looks of the PGM500, I didn't just buy this nitefly I traded!

I guess I'm just a bit disappointed you didn't pick up something totally different. I mean sure, it is nice guitar, but its a bit of a 'white elephant' considering what you already have and will subsequently own, especially when you suggested you might be interested in a Fender.

Is the tone noticeably different for recording? If not, I'd sell it on to a Gilbert fanboy for an inflated sum and enjoy the delights of a tasty strat or tele for something a bit different.

Hello all. Ive allways wanted a Fender Telecaster, and yesterday I was passing my local cash converters second hand shop and what do you know. So anyway not bein able to afford it outright, it was going for £249 I thought I'd ask if they would do a part ex. Luckily the guy was really nice and he happened to be a guitarist too, so he did me a good deal, my old Ibanez bass and a Laney bass amp and £80. I was happy with that.

The guitar itself Is a Mexican Tele, sounds nice, and it came in a hard case. Polished it up a bit and intend to bung some new strings on today and sort the neck relief and string height/intonation. and it should be sweet. Im a little bit concerened that the nut looks slightyly off, but I can allways fix that or get a new one. Anyway I intend to use this as a project guitar.. gonna put new electrics in it, with a RS guitar works kit and it should work out lovely.

Can anyone give me any info on it? it has a metal circle on the back with 60 on it. Anyway i'll post some pics. :)
