Lol, who cares it sounds great!! Love a guitar bargain. :-)

I guess I'm just a bit disappointed you didn't pick up something totally different. I mean sure, it is nice guitar, but its a bit of a 'white elephant' considering what you already have and will subsequently own, especially when you suggested you might be interested in a Fender.

Is the tone noticeably different for recording? If not, I'd sell it on to a Gilbert fanboy for an inflated sum and enjoy the delights of a tasty strat or tele for something a bit different.

What you seem to be forgetting is that I am a Paul Gilbert fanboy :p

I have the Fireman coming within the next 4 weeks hopefully :)

As i said, the MAIN reason for the purchase was for the the reason that it IS so similar to the 301. The RG i bought to replace playing on the 301 hardly got played, damn floyd rose. So now I can play my PGM500 which feels very similar to my 301 and not worry about the 301 getting knocks / dents.

With regards to tone, it's slightly different and to the well trained ear noticeable but it's not a vast difference tbh.

All i need after the fireman is a tele and I'm done buying guitars for a very long time :)

Looking and sounding good Mr. Gustov - you should ad lib the bits where you would otherwise be silent in your next video.

And I'm by far a bigger Paul Gilbert fan boy than you ;)

Hello all. Ive allways wanted a Fender Telecaster, and yesterday I was passing my local cash converters second hand shop and what do you know. :snip:

That's a beauty of a Tele mate, I've not always been a huge fan of them due to their twang, but I've recently got the GAS for a Thinline Tele with duo 'buckers, here it is:

That tele would just fit perfectly with my Fender Mex Strat which is a beauty of a guitar by the way and plays better than most american strats I've tried, here she is mid-cleanup after having changed the pickguard:

My wife just bought her dream guitar, a violet burst Gibson SG Goddess, so I guess it's my turn to splash out next? :D Got a while to wait before I could afford one, but I'm patient. :)

No hotlinking

Love that strat mate, very nice indeed. I have just put new vintage electronics CTS pots and bumble bee cpas in my Gibson les paul and it sounds amazing.. saved myself about 3 grand in the proccess too. Im gonna do the Tele next. I really reccomend the pre wired kits from here... http://www.rsguitarworks.net/rsstore/index.php?cPath=47

You want to hear my Gibson through my Marshall JCM 2000 now... amazing!

Cheers for the links to kits, they look good! Got any picks up of your Les Paul?

Yeah I love my strat, it's a 2004 mex, picked it up for £230 including the hard case it's sitting on in the piccie and in damn good condition - what a steal it was, I'll get better pics up later to show the beautiful grain on the neck and headstock. :) I cleaned up the frets real nice, changed the scratchplate (4-play white pearloid, cost me £10 from the same guy), put on a set of D'addario elixer 9-42's and she plays like an absolute dream!

The guitar itself Is a Mexican Tele, sounds nice, and it came in a hard case. Polished it up a bit and intend to bung some new strings on today and sort the neck relief and string height/intonation. and it should be sweet. Im a little bit concerened that the nut looks slightyly off, but I can allways fix that or get a new one. Anyway I intend to use this as a project guitar.. gonna put new electrics in it, with a RS guitar works kit and it should work out lovely.

Can't beat a bit of Telecaster twang! If this is a project guitar then may I recommend you check out the 4-way Tele mod :)

You get your same 3 pickup selections (bridge, bridge and neck, neck) but you also get a 4th bridge and neck selection. The standard one is bridge and neck in parallel, the new 4th position is bridge and neck in series. This gives it a much 'fatter' sound....actually more like a humbucker. When you think about it thats all a humbucker is, essentially just 2 single coils slapped together and wired up in series (ignoring everything bar the basics lol)

I did this on my Tele and it does sound very nice :)
